Marie Osmond does not believe in leaving behind her fortune to her children and says she thinks it would do them more “harm” if they were left a large inheritance and she wants them to “take care of themselves”.

The singer, 64, is estimated to have a net worth of over $20 million [£16,500 million], according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Speaking with Fox News Digital, she said: “I just think you rob them of finding who they are, and self-worth can’t be bought.

“That’s my opinion. I believe that, when I leave this life, I want my children to know that they can take care of themselves.”

The mother of eight admitted that she has financially helped her children throughout their lives.
