Who is Calvin Robinson?

Reverend Calvin Robinson, born October 29, 1984, is a political advisor, TV and radio presenter.

Prior to his suspension, the deacon hosted a religious current affairs programme on GB News.

Why has Calvin Robinson been suspended from GB News?

On September 29, 2023, it was reported that Reverend Cavin Robinson had been suspended for defending Dan Wootton following the Laurence Fox row.

Wootton and Laurence Fox have both been suspended from the channel.

It came after Fox made a series of remarks about journalist Ava Evans – which included asking "who would want to s**g that?" during a discussion on Dan Wootton Tonight on Tuesday.

On Friday morning, GB News boss Angelos Frangopoulos apologised to Ms Evans for the comments stating they "should not have gone to air" and should have been "properly challenged" by Wootton.

Both Fox and Wootton have also since apologised and GB News is now undertaking an internal investigation.

Regulator Ofcom has also launched a probe – after receiving around 7,300 complaints over the episode.

What has Calvin Robinson said?

In a post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter on September 29, 2023, Calvin Robinson wrote: ''I have been suspended from GB News.''

He previously said he would not appear on Dan Wootton's show without the suspended presenter, saying: "If he falls, we all fall."

Addressing the situation Rev Robinson wrote: "I will not be appearing on Dan Wootton Tonight without Dan Wootton. Dan Wootton had a significant part to play in building GB News."

The deacon also said GB News will be on "borrowed time" if it does not stand by Wootton.

Rev Robinson added: "Standing up for Dan is standing up for the very idea of GB News. If he falls, we all fall."
