Described as the “real-life version of Ted Lasso”, Welcome to Wrexham sees the famous friends contend with Wrexham AFC trying to become a new and improved team.
While there has been plenty of support for the players in the stands and around the world since Reynolds and McElhenney started backing them, there has been drama away from the pitch.
Wrexham was sadly denied funding from the government to rebuild “The Kop”, an end-of-the-stadium planned for renovation.
In addition to this, the club is still waiting for the Wrexham Supporters Trust to give the lease back to the Racecourse Ground stadium back to them.
The Welsh club travelled to America in the summer to compete in a seven-a-side tournament with a team made up of club legends.
Sadly, they crashed out of the tournament in round 16 which is expected to feature in the new episodes.
The team is also going to be paid a royal visit during the new episodes with King Charles III and Camilla paying a visit to the stadium.
Welcome to Wrexham season two premieres on Tuesday, September 12 on FX and Hulu in the US and Wednesday, September 13 on Disney+.
