Strictly’s Les Dennis having the best time despite comfort zone struggle
Les Dennis says he’s having the ‘best time’ despite age
Strictly Come Dancing’s Les Dennis has revealed he’s having a great time taking part in the BBC show following his first performance.
Last Saturday, the 15 celebrities took to the dancefloor for the first time with their professional partners.
One of which included presenter and actor Les and Nancy Xu who danced the Tango to the song Don’t You Want Me?
Although they found themselves at the bottom of the leaderboard, scoring 16 in total from the judges, Les seemed to impress the audience who erupted into cheers and applause when he’d finished.
Speaking about his routine on Thursday night’s instalment of It Takes Two with host Janette Manrara, he revealed how much he’s enjoying the process.

Janette said: “Never mind survey says, the audience said it all with the applause after you performed! How did that reaction make you feel?”
He replied: “I loved it. I mean, I’ve done a lot of shows but this was just the most exciting thing to do. We had fun.”
Agreeing, Nancy told the host they enjoyed playing the characters they created for their routine.

She revealed: “To be honest, that night when he gave me that face and he gave me that attitude, I was like, ‘This is everything I’m asking for.’”
Commenting on Les’ showbiz career, which has spanned across six decades, Janetre highlighted that dancing is a whole different level of intensity.
He said: “Totally, it’s well out of my comfort zone but I’m just having the best time.
“At my age, to learn something new is so exciting to have to do.”
Although he’s currently bottom of the leaderboard, all could change this weekend as the celebrities’ scores from their second dances will be added to week one’s.
Storming ahead with a total of 32 is Casualty actor Nigel Harman and Katya Jones who stole the show with their Pasa Doble.
However, close behind in joint second with scores of 29 are Amanda Abbington, Bobby Brazier, Ellie Leach and Layton Williams.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One from 6.20pm.
