Russell Brand news — TV presenter faces new abuse allegations as 'rape victim' speaks out over fears for women's safety | The Sun
RUSSELL Brand is facing a new raft of allegations after he was accused of rape, sexual assault and abuse by multiple women in a bombshell investigation.
In the wake of shocking claims made this weekend, more alleged victims have contacted The Sunday Times with more accusations against the TV presenter.
Both the BBC and Channel 4 have now launched an urgent probe into the allegations, with the Met Police urging any further potential victims to come forward.
One of the alleged victims, known as "Nadia", revealed that she broke her silence after becoming sickened by the comic’s new status as a wellness influencer with millions of followers, telling the newspaper: "I don't feel like a victim now. I feel like a survivor – I'm glad I'm on the other side of it. I'm stronger. At the time, I was so depleted of everything that I thought I was worth nothing.
"And that is not true. I just want to help make a change because I know it's not just me that was hurt by this … When I heard that you were doing this I was like 'OK, I'm ready – I'm ready to do this now'."
Brand vehemently denied the claims before the documentary and article were released.

What has Russell Brand said?
Before the allegations were published, Brand released a YouTube video in which he strongly denied the claims, without specifying what they were.
He explained that he had been contacted by a major newspaper, now known to be the Times, and a TV broadcaster, now known to be Channel 4, who will run a Dispatches programme on the subject tonight at 9pm.
The 48-year-old slammed the accusations as "untrue" and said that they were part of a "coordinated media attack" against him for "attacking mainstream media narratives".
He added that he "completely refutes" the reports and claimed that all of his relationships were "always consensual".
The video seemingly received the backing of his sister-in-law Kirsty Gallacher, who shared the clip to her own social media, though this has now been deleted.
Brand was also backed by controversial influencer Andrew Tate, who called the allegations against him "crazy".
However, Brand's wife Laura has not commented on the reports and has seemingly deleted her Instagram page.

BBC accused of ‘enabling predator’
The organisation revealed yesterday they were urgently starting investigations after the bombshell allegations of rape and sex assaults made about their former host.
And MPs and lawyers said the investigation by The Sunday Times and Dispatches documentary posed huge questions.
In a fraught 24 hours for the BBC, with serious claims against one of its ex-stars, the broadcaster is again facing allegations it failed to act on serious complaints — just like the Jimmy Savile scandal.
On his Radio 2 show Brand is alleged to have exposed his genitals to colleagues and show guests — with one appearing to be a minor — by urinating in a bottle.
Staff say a serious complaint was made to station controller Lesley Douglas but no formal action was taken.
Brand hinted in his autobiography that while on BBC 6 Music, he had been having sex with competition winners in the toilets.
His book implied Douglas was aware, but no action was taken.
