Emmerdale Bob star gushes over brilliant kids as he fears for twins safety
Emmerdale star Tony Audenshaw has praised his on-screen children ahead of a gripping storyline.
As the adults are occupied at the B&B's New Year's Eve party, Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling), Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling) and Angelica King (Rebecca Bates) take a joy ride in Wendy Posner's (Susan Cookson) car. At the party, Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) wants the kids to help serve and obedient Jimmy King (Nick Miles) is sent to find them.
Meanwhile in the car, Angelica and Heath are flirting and they encourage Cathy to speed up. Jimmy still hasn’t tracked them down and Bob is alarmed that Wendy's car is missing. Before long, Bob has extracted the truth from April Windsor (Amelia Flangan) about the kids taking the car, and rushes to follow them to a party in Hotten.

Meanwhile Nicola is frustrated to be pulled away from the Chairman, to hear from Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop), the kids have gone joyriding. Meanwhile, Heath’s impatience at Cathy’s driving speed builds. and a near miss with another car doesn’t affect Cathy’s resoluteness as she puts her foot down.
Fans will have to see if the three missing teens return home safe but Tony, who has played Bob since 2000, has gushed over the two young actors who have played his twin children for the past 17 years.
Tony told Daily Star and other press: "They are brilliant, the kids have been here since they were born. I remember when we shot up on the moors the babies being born with Paddy [Kirk, played by Dominic Brunt] birthing the children. It's nearly 17 years ago now but it doesn't seem that long ago.
"It's been their life since they were babies. It's always been their lives and I think it's quite extraordinary they are real twins and they are planning real twins. They are fabulous twins." He went on to reveal that Bob is "under a lot of pressure". Tony said: ""Bob isn't the best parent in the world. He's tried and he's under a lot of pressure.

"As a parent myself, it can be awkward giving your kids a lift or picking them up late at night. We did used to get called but we've passed that stage now. He can't believe they would do it. He's unsure if Cathy can drive or not but it's something Scott [Windsor] has taught he when she was away.
"He's concerned and because of the PMDD, Cathy has been acting erratically for quite a few months. Had he just given them a lift it might have planned out differently."
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
