EastEnders Sharon Watts considers exiting Walford after life-changing offer

EastEnders icon Sharon Watts will have to face a huge life-changing decision that could see her leave Walford for good.

In upcoming scenes set to air on the BBC One soap next week, Sharon (played by Letitia Dean) continues to clash with Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) over access to Albie.

Following a verbal altercation between the two women in the Square, Dorian Gates (Luke Smith) is on hand to offer Sharon the opportunity of a lifetime.

The charming boxing promoter tells Sharon about a job in Abu Dhabi meaning she could close the doors on her life in Walford in exchange for a fresh start in the Middle East.

Sharon’s dream of living as a happy family with Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) and their son Albie was destroyed in July after she helped Lisa Fowler (Lucy Benjamin) flee the East End with his daughter Peggy.

In recent episodes, Keanu was left fuming after he received an injunction from Lisa’s solicitor that scarpered his hopes of reuniting with his young daughter in the near future.

Meanwhile, Sharon was on hand to support ex-husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) through his relationship crisis with Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace).

The pair hit a rocky patch amid Kat’s discovery that her fiancé has been keeping secrets from her about ex-husband Alfie Moon’s (Shane Richie) cancer scare.

The fallout saw Phil regrettably sleep with Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit) while Kat was booking a shotgun wedding for the week after.

Amidst the drama surrounding her exes Keanu and Phil, Sharon shared a drink with newcomer Dorian where he revealed opportunities for work in Abu Dhabi and a great lifestyle.

He also suggested that she could be set up for life if she moved there, though Sharon dismissed him – even while intrigued.

But it seems after Sharon and Karen’s run-in on Monday (September 18), Dorian will tell her about a job in Abu Dhabi.

Will Sharon grab the opportunity for a new life in the sun? Or will she stay put in the place she’s called home for 37 years? Viewers will have to wait and see.

EastEnders airs every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday on BBC One at 7:30 pm.
