Eamonn Holmes takes a savage swipe at former employers ITV
GB News: Eamonn Holmes reacts to new ITV dating show
GB News Breakfast presenter Eamonn Holmes has taken a sly dig at his former employers ITV over their latest dating show Your Mum, My Dad which kicks off tonight saying “they’ve got no other ideas.”
His remarks came as he and co-host Isabel Webster were joined by Christopher Biggins and Claire Pearsall to discuss the show.
The premise sees children in their 20s nominate their parents for the programme where they try to act as matchmakers for their mums and dads.
The hugely hyped show, dubbed the middle aged Love Island, is hosted by Davina McCall but has it didn’t prove a hit with the panel.
“Who would do such a thing? What will they think of next?” Christopher blasted.

“They’ve got no bright ideas these television people – are you listening?” he continued.
Isabel disagreed saying: “I think it’s a good idea! Why does it only have to be young and beautiful (people).”
However, Eamonn was firmly on the side of Christopher and slammed his former employer.
“I agree with you [Christopher]. I mean, ITV are the worst,” he fumed. “If it’s not Ant and Dec, or it’s not Simon Cowell…
“Or it’s not Bradley Walsh on The Chase, they’ve got no other ideas!” he exclaimed.
Eamonn worked with ITV for nearly 30 years in different capacities. He first started with the channel hosting GMTV between 1993 and 2005.

He then went on to host the Friday episodes of This Morning with wife Ruth Langsford for 15 years from 2006. He was axed from the broadcaster at the end of 2020 before he joined GB News in early 2022.
He subsequently admitted that he was hurt by his exit from the channel.
“When I parted ways with ITV last year and I saw newspaper reports suggesting my departure was down to me being ‘too male, pale and stale’.
“The remarks hurt me a little, but they also ignited a fire in my belly. We’ll see about that,’ I thought to myself.
“I have since joined GB News, a channel at the start of an exciting journey, and the move has only underlined to me that there are still so many more exciting things to do and achieve. Male, stale and pale? Forget it. The best is yet to come.”
