A BELOVED BBC Breakfast star was missing from the show today after a week of hosting shake-ups.

Carol Kirkwood regularly presents the weather updates on the BBC programme, however she was nowhere to be seen today.


Instead, Matt Taylor was on hand to keep viewers informed on the weather across the UK.

Matt appeared via video link while Jon Kay and Sally Nugent were in the BBC Breakfast studio covering the latest news and topics.

Carol's absence comes after a week of hosting shake ups on the show, as Naga Munchetty was missing from the programme all of last week.

Naga, 47, usually presents BBC Breakfast alongside Charlie Stayt every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

But last week, she was missing from all three shows and was replaced by Sarah Campbell.

Meanwhile earlier in the week, Sally, 52, was absent from the show on Wednesday following her night out at the National Television Awards the evening before.

Instead, Tina Daheley stood in for alongside Jon, 53.

And it seems viewers were happy to see the Tina back on the sofa as one fan wrote: "BBCBreakfastĀ a nice change on the programme so far today.

To top off the week of hosting shake ups, Sally and Jon were both absent from Tuesday's show, with Tina hosting again alongside Ben Boulos.
