BBC Shirley Ballas insists Strictlys Ellie Leach isnt leaving without trophy
Shirley Ballas Says Ellie Leach Isn’t Leaving Without The Trophy
Strictly Come Dancing’s head judge Shirley Ballas has shared her thoughts on this year’s finalists. As Coronation Street’s Ellie Leach is the only female competitor left, the judge highlighted how determined the actress is to win.
After nearly 13 weeks of taking to the dancefloor, a new champion will be crowned this weekend. Viewers will see either Layton Williams, Ellie or Bobby Brazier lift the Glitterball on Saturday night.
Each contestant has received high scores throughout the series with all three finalists being awarded a total of 29 in their first week. With the final fast approaching, Shirley may have let slip who she thinks will take the title.
On Thursday’s instalment of It Takes Two, Shirley told Janette Manrara this would be a close call. She commented: “I feel like she [Ellie] is going to give us, everybody, a run for their money.
“This is a very, very tight final. Don’t underestimate Bobby, Layton’s coming in with all the strength. Ellie is determined as the only female standing, she’s not leaving without the trophy.”

Squealing in excitement, Janette replied: “You said it! You couldn’t have said it any better Shirley.”
Ellie is the only finalist who has managed to avoid being in the bottom two throughout the duration of the competition.
When asked why she thinks that is, Shirley replied: “I feel I should title her, Miss Consistency.
“She is consistent from day one when she started off and was uncomfortable with the moves, I think between the two of them Vito found the right choreography for this young lady. She never looked bad in anything that she did so consistency was key.”

Currently, Layton is at the top of the leaderboard with a combined total of 116 after being awarded two perfect scores.
Not far behind is Ellie with a total of 111 and then Bobby who is third on the leaderboard with a score of 107.
Although Layton is the first place on the board and the only contestant to be given a 40 this year, it’s Coronation Street’s Ellie Leach who is the favourite to win the show.
According to bookmakers Coral, the 22-year-old is 1-10 favourite to win the competition in the grand finale.
Coral’s John Hill said: “Ellie Leach is the shortest-priced Strictly finalist in history. We make her long odds-on to lift the Glitterball Trophy this weekend.”
Layton is the current second favourite with his odds standing at 8-1 with Bobby backed at 12-1.
The Strictly Come Dancing final airs Saturday 16 December on BBC One from 7pm.
It Takes Two is available to watch weeknights on BBC Two from 6:30pm.
