BBC Breakfast host left speechless over fact viewers often gush over her beauty

BBC Breakfast's Sally Nugent is a fan favourite on the morning show – but she's still surprised she does so well with fans.

The talented presenter hit the red carpet at the National Television Awards last week and chatted exclusively to the Daily Star while there.

When asked how she felt being so popular with viewers, Sally was shocked to hear that she was. After explaining that she was in fact a big hitter, she smiled.

In response to being asked how it feels to be loved by so many fans, Sally said: "Do they? Really?"

She coyly laughed: "How do you even know that? Well, I don't know why… Wow."

The modest TV star looked stunning at the awards and stole the show with a floor-length bright red dress.

Sally arrived at the event with Rob Burrow, who was nominated for one of the night's awards for his documentary Rob Burrow: Living with MND.

The host said: "It's really nice to be here with Rob.

"He's given out a really important message which is that most people who are diagnosed with MND don't leave their house again and Rob's message is very much that 'to go out and live your life every day as it's precious. And I think we can all learn quite a lot from him."

Sally posted some social media snaps from the big night where she posed in a hotel room with pals after getting all glammed up.

She uploaded the pics the next morning and captioned the post: "I definitely didn’t wake up like this. Thank you to the amazing @grainnefrawleymkup for getting me and Lindsey Burrow ready for the awards. Pic 3 gives you some idea of the amount of kit we used!

"A special thank you to Lindsey who came to the rescue when I realised I was trapped in my dress. (There are no pictures of this)

And thank you everyone for the votes and posts and the incredibly kind messages. The team @bbcbreakfast are very grateful for your support x"

Fans flocked to the comments underneath, with one writing: "Simply stunning ladies."

A second added: "I Love you, Dream Woman."

While a third penned: "The story of Rob and MND has shown so many what this cruel disease does to people. Sally well done for bringing this to people. You and Kevin Sinfield. Have done so much for the MND Community."
