Wishmas review – Secret Cinema’s Christmas immersive experience is magical

Wishmas: New Christmas ‘adventure’ coming to London

Secret Cinema is renowned for putting on the best immersive experiences set in the worlds of much-loved blockbusters.

And now their team has brought a Christmas adventure to London aimed at families and kids.

Wishmas is a 75 minute walkthrough story discovering where our festive wishes go.

Set at The Old Bauble Factory near Waterloo Station, we were welcomed into a Sorting Office by an enthusiastic elf and their robin puppet before taking a flying train on a quest to save Christmas.

Without going into spoilers, there were six different rooms with interactive set pieces full of colours and lights that are ideal for imagination-fuelled kids.

Of course, Father Christmas himself gets involved and there’s some lovely special effects and tricks towards the end.

As a regular frequenter of Secret Cinema immersive experiences it soon became clear that Wishmas really is aimed at children so it might not be one for teenagers or adults on their own.

Nevertheless, it was somewhat magical and concludes with a bauble-making workshop and Christmas fair with festive shops.
