Queen Letizia and King Felipe of Spain honour Denmark’s military personnel and lay a wreath to the fallen on day of engagements in Copenhagen with Princess Mary and Prince Frederik

Queen Letizia of Spain and King Felipe paid a sombre tribute to the fallen on day two of their state visit to Denmark. 

After a glittering state banquet last night, the Queen, 51, and her husband, 55, are carrying out a series of engagements with Crown Princess Mary and her husband Prince Frederik of Denmark in Copenhagen. 

All four royals attended a ceremony at the Citadel Memorial at Kastellet recognising both serving and fallen Danish military personnel and their efforts in international missions since 1948. 

Upon arrival, the King and Prince Frederik, accompanied by the commander of Copenhagen, reviewed the guard of honour before visiting the perpetual flame on the wall of monument. 

A soldier placed their floral tributes next to the inscription ‘En Tid, Et Sted, Et Menneske’, which means: A time, a place, a human being.

The queen, 51, and her husband, 55, spent the day with Crown Princess Mary and her husband Prince Frederik of Denmark in the country’s capital 

Queen Letizia looked elegant for the solemn occasion, in a camel belted trench coat and pointed nude heels.

Hidden underneath was a long-sleeved emerald green dress, once again revealing her love for a splash of colour, as seen on day one of the visit yesterday.

This time around, the mother-of-two oozed glamour in a long belted coat, which served to highlight her tall, lean frame.

The winter coat was tied at the waist, revealing her cinched waist – serving a dual function of both style and comfort.

Continuing her recent colour-blocking theme, the royal accessorised the look with a white clutch bag which displayed a gorgeous multicoloured floral pattern.

Her green drop down earrings were the perfect touch of class, while also matching the exact same shade of her dress.

Meanwhile her luscious locks were parted on either side of her face and fell gracefully around her shoulders. 

Her face was a picture of nude perfection, as she opted for a subtle pink lip and a smidge of mascara.

The queen displayed an unwavering aura of confidence as she posed alongside her husband and Danish royals.

King Felipe donned a smart navy blue coat which he teamed with a white and blue spotted tie.

The king looker dapper in an accompanying navy blue suit alongside a crisp white shirt and his signature black leather tie up shoes.

Meanwhile Crown Princess Mary, 51, and Prince Frederik of Denmark, 55, stepped out in force donning almost similar ensembles as their guests.

Leading the way was Crown Princess Mary, who personified classic chic in a long belted winter coat.

While her version appeared to be off-white, it bared the same length and style as her guest’s. 

The Crown Princess went for a monochrome look by teaming the jacket with all black accessories, including black tights, pointed black heels and a black leather clutch bag.

Her husband Prince Frederick sported a mid-length navy blue coat, a sky blue shirt and navy blue trousers. He also donned a pair of black leather loafers to match.

The royals appeared focused as they made their way across the grounds during their visit. 

The news comes just one day after Queen Letizia was spotted alongside husband King Felipe, 55, as the pair made their way from Madrid Airport to embark on an official state trip to Denmark.

The mother-of-two was the epitome of style in a tailored black wool coat, black cropped trousers and black chunky leather boots.

Perhaps the most eye-catching of her ensemble was a stunning neon green fabric blazer, which featured a v-neck cut and shining gold buttons emblazoned across the front.

The green blazer was cinched ever so slightly at the waist, and served to accentuate her already trim and shapely figure.

The former journalist oozed confidence as she made her way across the grounds in the smart-casual, yet practical look.

Her luscious locks were styled with a side part and neatly tucked away into a bun, while her sleek fringe swept across the front of her face.

For her make-up, she opted for a signature nude base, with just a touch of golden smokey eyeshadow and a smidge of black mascara.

She teamed the look with minimal jewellery, opting for three miniature silver hoop earrings and a silver ring to match.

For the occasion King Felipe donned a dapper black suit, which he matched with a crisp white shirt, a royal blue tie and black leather tie-up shoes.

The royals were all smiles as they made their way on to the steps of the plane just before departing the capital at Terminal T-4 at the Adolfo Suarez Madrid Barajas airport in Madrid.

The delightful couple were also photographed posing with officials and greeted all in attendance.

Their Majesties will pay a state visit to the Kingdom of Denmark from November 6 to November 8, which will serve to highlight and strengthen bilateral ties and relations between the two countries.
