Over 50 Balmain Pieces Have Been Stolen Ahead of Paris Fashion Week Show
Garments from Balmain‘s upcoming Paris Fashion Week show later this month have gone missing due to a delivery truck “hijacking.” Taking to Instagram, designer Olivier Rousteing explained to fans that pieces have been lost after the over 50 looks from the upcoming collection were stolen.
In Rousteing’s post, he wrote to his 9.8 million followers, “This morning I woke up with the smile, starting the fittings for my next show at 9 a.m. and this is what happened…50 Balmain pieces stolen. Our delivery was hijacked. The [truck] got stolen. Thank god, the driver is safe.” He noted that the show will still happen on the scheduled date of September 27, near the Eiffel Tower. He continued, “So many people worked so hard to make this collection happen. We are redoing everything but this is so so disrespectful.” Rousteing also added that the team will put in additional hours to ensure the show goes on, “We will work more, days and nights, our suppliers will work days and night as well…So many workers, suppliers, my team and I. Please be safe, this is the world we are living in. Love you my Balmain team and we won’t give up.”
Many of his peers took to his post to send his supporting, including Simon Porte Jacquemus who wrote in the coments, “Strenght,” followed by a heart emoji. It was just earlier this year that Rousteing decided to downsize his show for only 250 guests and just 52 looks. Take a look at Rousteing’s post below.
