Jonnie Irwin 'feels like a real dad' in sweet milestone with sons
Proud dad Jonnie Irwin shared a sweet snap of his sons at their swimming lessons, blissfully unaware of his cancer.
The A Place in the Sun presenter has not told his children about his diagnosis, which he revealed is terminal and took a turn for the worse last week.
His three boys, whom he shares with wife Jess, were taken to swimming lessons while Jonnie, 49, looked on.
He took a picture of the three; Rex, four, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac, from behind as they sat on the poolside together.
The boys watched the water as Jonnie wrote he felt like a āproper dadā enjoying these simple every day moments with them.
āSwimming lessons-proper dad vibes watching my trio today,ā he captioned the picture.
Fans sent supportive messages about him being a ārealā dad, with one writing: āYou most certainly are a real Dad top man.ā
Another said: āTop top Dad Jonnie. One day in the future those boys will look back and be so proud of you. Keep going and all power to you šš¼.ā
āSo you should, your a wonderful Dad with gorgeous boys! A heart of a lion!ā added a third.
He and Jess made the decision not to tell the young kids about Jonnieās condition after being told his lung cancer had spread to his brainĀ and became terminal.
Jonnie admitted it would be āhorrible news that theyād have to get their head aroundā, especially when he is still well and spending time with them.
Over the summer holidays the family were off on numerous adventures, including a wildlife park, creating happy memories together.
He recently transformed the house into aĀ Jurassic jungle-themed homeĀ complete with tents and toys, much to the boys delight.
It was Rexās first day at school this year, which the dad-of-three shared an emotional post about saying he could āburstā with pride.
Co-star Leah Charles-King told Metro.co.uk: āJonnie is amazing, intelligent charismatic guy and we all love him to bits.ā
She added: āI met Jonnie before when I first got the gig in 2021, and he was so welcoming and warm to me and he left the programme before I even started but he was just wonderful and as we all do just sending him lots of love.ā
