In excerpts obtained by People, Spears writes: ‘She will always be my sister, and I love her and her beautiful family. Iām working to feel more compassion than anger toward her, and everyone who I feel has wronged me. Itās not that easy.’
The star said her younger sister ‘ruled the roost’ at their home inĀ Kentwood, Louisiana, leaving Britney feeling like a ‘ghost child’ to her parents Jamie and Lynne.
She writes: ‘I can remember walking into the room and feeling like no one even saw me. Jamie Lynn only saw the TV. My mother, who at one time had been the person I was closest to in the world, was on another planet… Iād listen to her spew these hateful words, and Iād turn to my mother and say, “Are you going to let this little witch talk to you like that?” I mean, she was bad.’

She alleges Jamie responded: ‘Stop fighting itā¦ Thereās nothing you can do about it, so stop fighting it.’
Spears wrote: ‘This will sound crazy, but Iāll say it again because itās the truth: I thought they were going to try to kill me. I didnāt understand how Jamie Lynn and our father had developed such a good relationship. She knew I was reaching out to her for help and that she was dogging me. I felt like she should have taken my side.’

Jamie Lynn and the rest of the Spears family were not invited to her 2022 wedding to Sam Asghari.
In a July interview with Variety, Jamie Lynn said she has ‘absolute love’ for Britney but admitted that the backlash she received from the ‘Free Britney’ movement as well asĀ her big sister’s scathing posts were ‘hard’ for her to deal with.Ā
‘I have nothing but absolute love for every single one of my family members. If I learned anything from last year, being so open and feeling like I had to defend myself at times, I don’t feel like there’s anything else that I need to say,’ she told the outlet of her relationship with Britney.
‘I just have to leave it where it is because those conversations are meant to be personal. All I can focus on now is my girls, my husband and the work that Iām doing.’
Another major instigator of one of their fallout was Jamie Lynn’s tell-all memoir, in which she accused the singer of once seizing a knife and locking herself in a room with her because she ‘didn’t feel safe.’
At the time, Britney slammed her sibling for spreading ‘crazy lies’ about her in the book, and a public war of words raged between the pair.
Britney also revealed that she wasnāt happy when Jamie Lynn used her music in a performance at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards. āI donāt like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes,ā she wrote. āMy so-called support system hurt me deeply!!!!āĀ
