In the film, a married couple is being chased by driverless Teslas.

The cars end up all crashing into each other and cause a pile-up on the road.

In response to this scene, Elon tweeted: ‘Teslas can charge from solar panels even if the world goes fully Mad Max and there is no more gasoline!’

Elon was trying to show that the electronic cars could survive – even in an apocalyptic situation.

However, there is only one problem. The Teslas shown in the film work perfectly – they have just been hacked to chase people.

Social media users flooded the comments section in response to Elon’s tweet as they mocked him for ‘ruining the plot.’

One person said: ‘That’s not what’s going on here.’

Another added: ‘Listen, it’s talking about self-driving getting out of control.’
