VIEWERS of The One Show were disappointed when the BBC dedicated a whole episode to the Beatles last night.

Brits hit out at the current affairs show for the "torturous" extended report on how the band wrote their single Now and Then.

The unreleased track is set to come out on Friday, and is the last ever song to feature all of the 'Fab Four'.

Show hosts spent the majority of last night's episode discussing the track and screening a film that showed how the single was made.

Giles Martin, the son of the producer of the song, joined John Bishop and Lauren Laverne in the studio to talk about the song.

But viewers were less than impressed by the amount of time spent focusing on the record – without even giving them a chance to hear the track in full.

People flocked to social media to share their disappointment.

One unhappy viewer asked: "So you big it up all week then don't play the actual whole song?"

Another chimed in bitterly: "So after all that we don't get to hear The Beatles' new song?"

A third grumbled: "Wtf. Just sat through the torturous One Show, hyped for the new Beatles' single and they're not even playing it. Total con."

One watcher hit out in a sweary rant saying: "Finally it's f****** over and the b******* didn't even play the full f****** song."

However, some fans were appreciative of the special.

A music lover beamed: "That Beatles film was stunning. Absolutely amazing.

"I know it's not the last ever Beatles song, that belongs to the near-mythical Carnival of Light which will surely escape someday, but this does feel like a significant moment in their history."

</picture>LAST BELL
