A former Emmerdale star is miles away from her time on the ITV soap having changed her name and pursued a completely different career away from acting.

Lauren Sheriston joined the cast of Emmerdale back in 2012 as Anya King, the daughter of Carl King. Before this, the soap star appeared in an episode of the TV series Eternal Love as Ruby in the same year.

While her notable time on the hit ITV soap didn't last long, she has since found a normal day job and also goes by a different name. Here's everything we know about the former Emmerdale star…

Name change

Previously known as Lauren Sheriston, the former actress now goes by the name of Lauren Heselden. In February 2020, Lauren took to Facebook to share the news that she was engaged to her boyfriend Joshua Heselden from Leeds.

Documenting their love story on social media, in September 2022 the former soap star shared some images from her hen party in Barcelona, Spain. Donning a white swimsuit for the occasion, Lauren was joined by her close pals as they enjoyed a lavish boat trip complete with an inflatable man.

For the lavish soiree, Lauren went on to add another snap as she wore a glittered white mini-dress with a fluffy hem. The TV star looked stunning as she beamed at the camera as a bride-to-be.

Confirming that they had tied the knot, Lauren posted a photo on Instagram from their big day as she beamed with her new husband with the caption "27.05.23". And her name officially changed to Lauren Heselden.

New career

After a short stint on Emmerdale, Lauren went on to pursue a career in fitness and has become a Pilates instructor. Her Instagram account lvh_pilates is dedicated to her career offering fitness updates, selfies and video tutorials of Pilate workouts.

Lauren also shares a bundle of photos, showing different positions and stretches within the strengthening exercise. In the bio of her page, it reads "Pilates instructor" with a location pin confirming she's based in Surrey.

Last week, Lauren posted a video as she attempted some Pilates but was interrupted by one of her adorable Cockapoo pooches who couldn't help but get in on the action and beg for some attention. The video gave a glimpse inside her home with grey laminated flooring, grey carpeted stairs with a wooden bannister and white tinted walls.

Emmerdale stint

Lauren Sheriston joined the cast of Emmerdale back in 2012 as Anya King, the daughter of Carl King. The King family were first introduced back in 2004 with Anya and her brother Tom King both whisked off to Saudi Arabia to start a new life with their mum.

Despite living overseas, the duo kept returning to Emmerdale in order to see their father and even showed signs of maintaining a strong rapport with him, but in a cruel twist of fate, Carl was murdered. Returning to the village in order to attend his funeral, Tom and Anya took refuge with their Uncle Jimmy and his wife Nicola, as they came to terms with their loss.

During this time, Lauren starred as Anya for seven episodes and was never seen on the soap again. Lauren is thought to have attended the Rebel School of Theatre Arts & Casting Agency Ltd in Huddersfield after they proudly announced her arrival in Emmerdale back in 2012.

Taking to Facebook to share the news alongside a screengrab of Lauren on the ITV soap, the drama school wrote: "We can finally announce that Miss Lauren Sheriston was cast as the daughter of Carl King, and plays the new Anya King in ITV's soap Emmerdale.

"Lauren filmed in August and September and jetted back Turkey early to begin filming! Lauren can be seen in around 10 episodes over the next 3 weeks. Well done Lauren…last year playing a rough council estate kid Ruby Yearling in ITV's Eternal Law and now a bit of posh totty in Emmerdale…. can't get much more diverse than that!!"
