BBC celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 97th birthday<\/h3>\n

After seven years since its last season, the highly anticipated third instalment of Planet Earth is returning to screens this weekend.<\/p>\n

Across eight episodes, BBC viewers will be taken across the globe to witness some of the most amazing species in their natural habitats.<\/p>\n

Filmed over the course of five years, the Planet Earth team visited 43 countries across six continents exploring oceans, forests and grasslands.<\/p>\n

Sir David Attenborough will be returning to present the show, which the 97-year-old has been a part of since it first aired back in 2006.<\/p>\n

How to watch Planet Earth III?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The first episode of Planet Earth III will air on Sunday 22nd of October on BBC One at 6.15pm and will also be available to watch on BBC iPlayer.<\/p>\n

In the hour-long instalment, titled Coasts, viewers will see Sir David Attenborough showcase the wildlife within coastal regions.<\/p>\n

From exploring Cape fur seals on South Africa’s Robberg Peninsula to watching hungry lions on Namibia’s infamous Skeleton Coast, people will see how wildlife has adapted to its surroundings.<\/p>\n

A description for the episode reveals the show will also take a look at how the Arctic coast is the scene of the biggest seasonal transformation on Earth.<\/p>\n
