<\/p>\nRussell Brand returned to YouTube on Monday evening as he continued his call for fans to join him on video platform Rumble after his YouTube channel was demonetized. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Promoting his video, Russell said: \u201cAre we being silenced? The battle for free speech streaming now on @rumblevideo.\u201d<\/p>\n
The comedian, 48, began his livestream just minutes after the Metropolitan Police confirmed they have received \u201ca number of allegations of sexual assault in London\u201d following news reports about Russell.<\/p>\n
In a short statement, police said all allegations were non-recent and there have been no arrests.

Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy, from the Met’s Central Specialist Crime Command, said: “We continue to encourage anyone who believes they may have been a victim of a sexual offence, no matter how long ago it was, to contact us.<\/p>\n

“We understand it can feel like a difficult step to take and I want to reassure that we have a team of specialist officers available to advise and support.”<\/p>\n
The force said it will be offering specialist support to all of the women who have made allegations.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, Brand shared another video and said it has been an \u201cextraordinary and distressing week\u201d.<\/p>\n
He has been at the centre of allegations of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse during the height of his fame between 2006 and 2013.<\/p>\n

The allegations were made by four women in an investigation by Channel 4\u2019s Dispatches and The Sunday Times last weekend.<\/p>\n
He has denied all allegations and claimed his relationships have always been consensual.<\/p>\n
In a pre-emptive video shared prior to the expose being published, he said he was \u201cvery promiscuous\u201d but \u201crefutes these very serious criminal allegations\u201d.<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cI don\u2019t want to get into this any further because of the serious nature of the allegations, but I feel like I\u2019m being attacked, and plainly they are working very closely together.<\/p>\n
“We are obviously going to look into this matter, because it\u2019s very very serious. In the meantime I want you to stay close, stay awake, but more important than any of that, if you can, please stay free.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
