Olly Murs has made it clear he\u2019s not happy after being axed from The Voice UK after six years as a coach.<\/p>\n
The 2009 X Factor star, 39, joined the hit ITV talent show in 2017 and has sat on the panel alongside the likes of Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson, Meghan Trainor, and Anne-Marie.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, Olly will not be back in 2024, a decision he assures was not \u2018amicable.\u2019<\/p>\n
The singer has also vowed not to \u2018bulls**t\u2019 his fans by pretending he wanted to leave, hitting out in a new interview.<\/p>\n
Confirming his time as a coach has come to an end, Olly told The Sun: \u2018I\u2019m gutted. I got the call last week to say I won\u2019t be back on the show, and it\u2019s a bit of a shock, to be honest. I didn\u2019t really expect that to come.\u2019<\/p>\n
The Heart Skips A Beat singer continued: \u2018But I don\u2019t want to sit here like other artists might, and shine and gloss this up and say, \u201cIt was my decision.\u201d I don\u2019t want to do that.<\/p>\n

\u2018I don\u2019t want to bulls**t my fans or bulls**t people who watch the show, and say, \u201cOh, it was an amicable decision to leave, I\u2019ve got lots of things on\u00a0next\u00a0year, I can\u2019t do it anymore.\u201d No.\u2019<\/p>\n
Despite his own bitter feelings, Olly will still be tuning in.<\/p>\n
\u2018Genuinely, I accept their decision, and they\u2019ll find someone great, I\u2019m sure,\u2019 he added. \u2018But am I going to miss it? Yeah.\u2019<\/p>\n
The start then said: \u2018Did I want to leave? No. Will I still watch the show? Of course, but it\u2019ll be sore thinking that could have been me\u2009\u2026\u2019<\/p>\n
Olly enjoyed a successful stint on the singing show, winning twice with his team.<\/p>\n
The chart-topper insists he still has a \u2018great relationship with ITV\u2019 and he believes his exit was more the decision of production company Talpa, rather than the channel itself.<\/p>\n
But, he\u2019s yet to have a sit-down chat with his fellow celebrity coaches \u2013 and there\u2019s one person in particular he\u2019s going to miss.<\/p>\n

\u2018They told my team they\u2019re looking at new people. I don\u2019t know if anyone knows yet, but I will really miss Tom, especially as I got very close to him,\u2019 added the Dear Darlin\u2019 hitmaker.<\/p>\n
\u2018I\u2019m going to miss drinking champagne after the show with him and chatting life stories but hopefully, if he reads this, he might get in touch.<\/p>\n
\u2018I loved\u00a0The Voice\u00a0and will always remember my first day on the set \u2014 how nervous I was, sitting in that big, red scary chair.<\/p>\n
\u2018But I felt I took to it like a duck to water and really just enjoyed it. I am really going to miss it.\u2019<\/p>\n
Olly went on to heap praise on the people \u2018behind the scenes\u2019 and \u2018everyone involved in the show\u2019, as he\u2019s \u2018gutted not to be doing it again.\u2019<\/p>\n
Alas, Olly accepts that he has to \u2018move on\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u2018I\u2019ve had knockbacks in my career before, I will be fine. Something exciting will come along,\u2019 he added, keeping optimistic.<\/p>\n
\u2018But this year has been such a year of positives for me, I always thought something bad might come around\u2026 and I guess this is it.\u2019<\/p>\n

When contacted for comment, ITV told Metro.co.uk<\/strong>: \u2018The Voice UK returns to ITV1 and ITVX for a brand new series later this year featuring coaches\u00a0Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, Anne-Marie and Olly Murs. <\/p>\n \u2018Details of the 2024 series will be confirmed in due course.\u2019<\/p>\n Getting the chop as a coach is the second blow Olly\u2019s had to his TV career in recent weeks.<\/p>\n Sadly, Starstruck \u2013 which he hosted \u2013 has also been scrapped and won\u2019t be returning for a third season.<\/p>\n The glitzy competition show invited ordinary people for extraordinary transformations as they underwent makeovers to perform as their favourite artists, including the likes of Harry Styles, Cher, Meatloaf, and Taylor Swift.<\/p>\n A \u00a350,000 prize was awarded at the end of what was dubbed a modern version of Stars in their Eyes, with Adam Lambert, Beverley Knight, Shania Twain, and Jason Manford on the panel.<\/p>\n Despite being received warmly by many, the singing show no longer has a future which, again, has left Olly \u2018gutted\u2019.<\/p>\n \u2018Presenting is something I have always loved doing. Starstruck was amazing but that isn\u2019t coming back,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n \u2018I am gutted it is such a great show. In this game, things change so quickly.<\/p>\n \u2018The ratings did really well but in terms of money and stuff like that, it just didn\u2019t work,\u2019 he added when speaking to\u00a0The Sun\u00a0at the National Television Awards.<\/p>\n Thankfully, Olly won\u2019t be sitting at home, twiddling his thumbs, as he\u2019s heading back out on the road next year.<\/p>\n Olly will support Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald on their next Take That tour between April and June 2024.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
