{"id":67412,"date":"2023-09-17T21:59:20","date_gmt":"2023-09-17T21:59:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotcelebon.com\/?p=67412"},"modified":"2023-09-17T21:59:20","modified_gmt":"2023-09-17T21:59:20","slug":"strictly-come-dancing-fans-in-tears-over-len-goodman-tribute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotcelebon.com\/entertainment\/strictly-come-dancing-fans-in-tears-over-len-goodman-tribute\/","title":{"rendered":"Strictly Come Dancing fans in tears over Len Goodman tribute"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/SEI_153324241-bbe7.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left in tears over the emotional tribute to former judge Len Goodman.<\/p>\n<p>Goodman became a judge on the BBC\u2019s flagship programme in 2004 before his final appearance on the 2016 Christmas Day special and became synonymous with his catchphrase \u2018Seven\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>He was diagnosed with bone cancer and died in April aged 78.<\/p>\n<p>In the video tribute in tonight\u2019s launch show, host Claudia Winkleman said: \u2018He was perfect in every way.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Len could light up a room so when you were with him you felt aglow.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018He would say pickle my walnuts, he was funny, you wanted to watch him.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile judge Craig Revel Horwood said: \u2018I don\u2019t think I will meet anyone as funny.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I absolutely adored our little arguments and that is what sort of bonded us and gave us a fantastic friendship.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/metro-parent\/img\/fallback.png\"><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"A tribute to Len Goodman - BBC Strictly 2023\" width=\"860\" height=\"484\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0fpuYusvGZY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Struggling to hold back his tears, he added: \u2018If you asked me the question \u2018was Len one of your best friends\u2019, I would say absolutely.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The emotional segment had viewers in bits, with one writing: \u2018Well not a dry eye in my household tonight beautiful tribute to Len Goodman.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Am sitting here crying what an amazing Tribute to Len Goodman R.I.P Len Goodman,\u2019 another said.<\/p>\n<p>Someone else wrote: \u2018Thank you for doing this Len Goodman tribute in the first episode since his passing @bbcstrictly.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018He was a real character during his time as a judge and he helped to make #Strictly entertaining, especially with some of his catchphrases.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The group number saw judges\u00a0Shirley Ballas, Craig, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke perform along with the professionals to a medley of songs including Afraid To Feel from LF System, Kylie\u2019s Padam Padam and Higher from Michael Buble.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Amy posted a message in support on her own socials, writing: \u2018My smile the other week after being with the Strictly family, the entire team.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018So grateful and lucky to have you all.
