MAJOR high street brands and big supermarkets are closing more of their stores this week.<\/strong><\/p>\n Wilko, Tesco and a number of other big brands are shutting stores for good.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Soaring\u00a0inflation\u00a0has left shoppers strapped for cash, and retailers are struggling to get customers to part with their hard-earned money.<\/p>\n High\u00a0energy\u00a0costs and a shift to online shopping are also taking a toll and many brands and many just haven't been able to keep going.<\/p>\n But not every retailer is shutting stores for good – some are expanding.<\/p>\n Aldi is set to open 20 new stores before the end of the year as part of its target to reach 1,500 branches across the UK.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n While Poundland is in the process of opening around half a dozen stores this month.<\/p>\n Here's a full list of some well-known retailers that will be shutting dozens of branches this week.<\/p>\n Wilko\u00a0will close 52 stores next week after failing to secure a rescue deal for the whole business.<\/p>\n The raft of closures next week will lead to to 1,016 redundancies, while the company has also announced hundreds of further job losses affecting warehouse and service centre staff.<\/p>\n <\/picture>FRESH HOPE <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/picture>LOT-TO LOSE <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/picture>BAKERY TREAT <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/picture>HOUSE HELL <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n It comes after rival retailer B&M bought up to 51 other\u00a0stores in a deal worth up to \u00a313 million.<\/p>\n Administrators said that \u201cit is possible that further store closures may regrettably be necessary\u201d, depending on talks with remaining suitors.<\/p>\n The following\u00a0Wilko\u00a0shops will close on Tuesday, September 12:<\/p>\n The following\u00a0Wilko\u00a0shops will close on Thursday, September 14:<\/p>\n Tesco closed its bargain supermarket brand Jack's last year, converting six of the 13 branches into new\u00a0Tesco\u00a0superstores, while the others permanently closed.<\/p>\n One of the stores that switched from a Jack's to a Tesco is located in Kilner Way Retail Park in\u00a0Sheffield.<\/p>\n But Tesco confirmed that this store will close on Friday, September 15 because of low customer demand.<\/p>\n All staff currently working at the store will have the option to be redeployed to another store in the area.<\/p>\n There are currently four large Tesco stores and nine Express stores in Sheffield.<\/p>\n Iceland\u00a0will be pulling the shutters down on two of its supermarkets next Saturday.<\/p>\n The discount chain has\u00a0closed over a dozen shops\u00a0this year already.<\/p>\n The chain's supermarkets in the Market Shopping Centre in\u00a0Crewe\u00a0and its branch in Grange Road, Birkenhead will then close for the last time on Saturday, September 16.<\/p>\n It follows the closures of 15\u00a0Iceland\u00a0supermarkets earlier this year.<\/p>\n Here is the full list of Iceland closures:<\/p>\n It's not all bad\u00a0news\u00a0though because Iceland has opened a new store in Slough and two new shops under the Food Warehouse brand in Kendal and\u00a0Aberdeen\u00a0in recent weeks.<\/p>\n Morrisons\u00a0is going to pull the shutters down on three supermarkets this year starting from next week.<\/p>\n The\u00a0supermarket\u00a0giant will close its branche in Faversham on September 17.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n It will also close its\u00a0stores in Blackpool Road in Preston and Bolton Breighmet.<\/p>\n A spokesperson for Morrisons said: \u201cFollowing a thorough review of our Faversham and\u00a0Bolton Breightmetstore's operation, unfortunately\u00a0we do\u00a0not believe performance is sustainable and we are therefore announcing today that we have made the difficult\u00a0decision to sell the\u00a0stores."<\/p>\n Do you have a money problem that needs sorting?
