Vicky Pattison has shared some of the horrific messages she received after revealing she has premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

The Geordie Shore star opened up about her diagnosis last month in an emotional social media post.

In a new video posted on Instagram, the former I’m A Celebrity winner shared a number of sickening messages she received after opening up on her difficult diagnosis.

Over a video of Vicky dancing, she highlighted just a few of the messages that had been sent to her.

‘Another celeb just creating an illness to stay relevant,’ one read, with another saying: ‘The majority of us suffer we just get on with it.’

The final message saw Vicky flip the bird to the camera, saying: ‘Does this explain why she’s been a c**t for so many years??’

She went on to talk about the abuse she received in a lengthy caption, in which she urged people to ‘show each other some compassion.’

‘Aaaahhhh you’ve got to laugh haven’t you??? 😂’ she began the post, before talking about the ‘misinformation’ that blights her condition.

Vicky continued: ‘There’s such a huge lack of knowledge & understanding when it comes to women’s bodies & what they go through- & the only way we combat that issue & overcome the misinformation is by talking more & sharing our experiences.

‘However, it’s a real shame that when someone does speak up they’re met with scorn & abuse. We need to do better 🥹.’

She went on to explain more about PMDD, which can cause severe irritability, depression, or anxiety in the week or two before your period starts, according to the Office on Women’s Health.

‘PMDD is premenstrual dysphoric disorder & it roughly affects 10% of women- so not to be THAT a*****e but in reference to the “we all have it- we just get on with it” narrative- everyone doesn’t.

‘They have PMS, which quite frankly is bad enough & no picnic- so if you found out someone was dealing with something that was like PMS but on crack you think you’d be inclined to exercise a little empathy…. but nooooooo let’s instead throw shade on the internet 😂.’

Vicky listed the symptoms of PMDD for people to recognise, including extreme fatigue, insomnia, difficulty concentrating, feelings of hopelessness, bouts of extreme sadness, depression, lack of interest in things that usually bring you joy, intense mood swings, and suicidal thoughts.

‘So I suppose to address the other heinous comment- yeah this could be why I’ve been a ‘c**t’ for so many years- but it’s probably more likely that was a myriad of reasons.. 😂,’ she continued.

‘Listen ladies, I haven’t done this post so I can have a good whinge- although that does feel good I’m not going to lie 😂 I’ve done it to highlight this debilitating & horrendous disorder in the hopes that more women who are suffering from any of these symptoms will stand up for themselves & insist on being taken seriously in a world where more often than not women are just expected to ‘get on with it.’

‘If anything I’ve written here has resonated with you and the penny has finally dropped- go & see your doctor, don’t take no for an answer.. because life is short & we don’t want to waste half of it feeling like this is we don’t want to be here 🥹

‘And finally, we’re all fighting our own personal battles that for the most part no one else knows about- so why don’t we all just try being that bit kinder & show each other some compassion. Just a thought for the start of the week 💘’
