MO GILLIGAN is a British stand up comedian and also appears as  judge on The Masked Singer.

The comic, who will also be on the judging panel on the new series of The Masked Dancer, regularly has audiences and viewers in fits of laughter, whether it is on a stage or from the comfort of his own home.

Who is Mo Gilligan?

Mo Gilligan, 32, is a British comedian from London.

He rose to fame in 2017 when a sketch he uploaded to Twitter about different types of DJ raked in a million hits in just 24 hours.

One of his comedy characters, the geezer, has the catchphrase "Bring me a coupla cans" which has been shared and liked by Drake and Stormzy.

Previously he worked in retail – in the Apple Store, Primark and a Levi's shop.

In March 2018 he played at the Albert Hall alongside the likes of Greg Davies and Dara O' Briain for the Teenage Cancer Trust's annual comedy night.

In 2018 Mo played his Coupla Cans stand up tour with 12 dates at London's Vaudeville theatre and two gigs in Australia.

He hosts his own show, The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan, which debuted 19 July 2019 on Channel 4.

Later on in the year, his first comedy special on Netflix, Mo Gilligan: Momentum.

What TV shows has Mo Gilligan been on?

Mo co-hosted The Big Narstie Show on Channel 4, alongside Grime star Big Narstie.

The comedian was given his own shows on Netflix called Momentum and The Lateish Show With Mo Gilligan on Channel 4.

He paired up with Claudia Winkleman to win the 2018 edition of The Big Fat Quiz of the Year hosted by Jimmy Carr.

Mo also appeared on Celebrity Call Centre as an agony uncle, a one-off show which was part of its Stand Up To Cancer charity programming in 2018.

Mo also appeared on The Great Celebrity Bake Off for SU2C, alongside Carol Vorderman, Kelly Brook and Rob Rinder.

Gilligan also featured in Soccer Aid 2020 and was part of The Rest of the World team who went on to win the match.

He joined the judging panel of The Masked Singer in 2020 and will also be trying his best to figure out which out which guests are behind the wacky and colourful costumes on the brand new series The Masked Dancer.

That's not all, as in August 2020 he was announced as the new panellist on the next series of The Masked Singer after travel restrictions meant that Ken Jeong couldn't continue.

Speaking about his upcoming gig, he said: "It’s one of the funniest shows out there and I’m really proud to play my small part to help bring a little bit of joy to the nation."

And he recently released a standalone documentary celebrating black comedians in the UK.

The show Mo Gilligan: Black, British and Funny was released on Channel 4 on October 15, 2020 – and includes The Real McCoy comic Angie Le Mar and Slim, the man who inspired Mo to pursue a career in comedy.

Does Mo Gilligan have a wife?

Mo Gilligan has chosen to keep his personal life away from the spotlight, unlike many comedians who use their home life as stand up material.

It has been reported that the comedian is currently in a long-term relationship with Hollyoaks actress Sophie Wise.

She has also featured in Doctors and Holby City.

But it's not clear if he is married.
