Video of Car Stunt Gone Wrong on Americas Got Talent: Extreme Hits Online

AceShowbiz -“America’s Got Talent: Extreme” recently made headlines after a contestant’s car stunt went horribly wrong. The video of the gut-wrenching accident has now made its way online, detailing how the stunt got underway on Thursday, October 14 rehearsal.
Obtained by TMZ, the clip featured contestant Jonathan Goodwin attempting to do his car stunt. The professional daredevil could be seen hanging mid-air in a straight jacket while two vehicles were also suspended on each side of him.
After they released the cars, they unhooked Jonathan’s harness as well to let fall underneath so the cars would not hit them. Unfortunately, the timing was off and he was sandwiched between the two cars and it resulted in an explosion. He then fell to the ground and hit his head.
Following the accident, it was revealed that the escape artist was airlifted to hospital. “During a rehearsal an accident occurred in which escape artist Jonathan Goodwin was injured while performing his act,” a spokeswoman for “America’s Got Talent” said in a statement at the time.
“He was responsive and was immediately taken to the hospital where he is continuing to receive medical care. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family as we await further updates on his condition,” the statement continued. The production was then shut down for Friday, while health and safety officials investigate the accident.
“AGT: Extreme” began filming its first season earlier this month. The winner of the “AGT” spin-off, which features WWE star Nikki Bella, “X Games” gold medalist Travis Pastrana and executive producer Simon Cowell as the judges, will receive a grand prize of $500,000. The premiere date of the planned show has yet to be revealed.
