This Morning fans were left seething after the latest round of Spin To Win was played.

Presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby returned to their regular spot for Tuesday's instalment of the ITV show and were ready to help someone win a cash prize.

Phil, 60, told viewers that their boss had been "incredibly generous" and decided to increase the money to include all household bills, adding: "So that could be your mortgage, your petrol, your food."

"We'll pay your bills until the end of the year up to a value of £3,000."

As they began playing, Holly was ecstatic when she pulled out the ball containing £3,000 for the lucky person at home to take home.

After sending Fiona home with the £3,000 as well as the 'bag of shizzle,' Phil couldn't resist taking a swipe as he said: "I wonder how much of that they can complain about online."

But despite the upgrade in prize, fans were straight on social media to blast the "insensitive" game.

One viewer fumed: "I've just heard a clip of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield giving away four months of energy costs as a prize and now I want head straight home, pack my bag, grab my passport and leave this god forsaken country. What on earth have we become? @thismorning."

"I am disgusted. #ThisMorning, @Schofe and @hollywills should be ashamed. People are in crisis. If you have a heart stop this now," said another seething fan.

A third penned: "How long before we have a reality tv show following people who lose everything due to the cost of living crisis competing to win 100K?"

"#thismorning point people are trying to make is that winning your energy bills paid should not have to be a prize on telly .. I know it’s lovely for those who win it but it’s still wrong it’s had to come to this for everyone … people have a right to be p****d off," raged someone else.

While a fifth took to social media and wrote: "Just heard the #ThisMorning where someone ‘won’ four months of their energy bill’s value. What a total disgrace. Thoughtless and patronising. It’s so bleak and awful. Please stop."
