This Morning blunder as Alison uses her phone and Dermot talks to crew live on air

Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were caught off-guard in a hilarious moment today on This Morning when Lorraine's Ranvir Singh cut to them before they were ready.

Finishing the previous segment, which saw Tyler West eating a rather bizarre pickle, Ranvir said: "And I've got a gift for Alison and Dermot, it's wet feet pickles."

However, rather than responding to Ranvir, Dermot was stood up asking someone called Victoria for some water, while Alison was sat on the sofa scrolling through her phone.

The awkward situation led to Ranvir announcing: "We're on you" as Alison quickly put her phone away, before Ranvir asked: "Hello. Are you ready for us my love?"

To which Alison laughed: "We wasn't" as Dermot added: "Oh we're here? I couldn't hear you."

"Have I come to you a bit early? Have I interrupted?" quipped Ranvir, before Dermot joked that they were "totally ready" and shared what would be coming up on This Morning.

And although Ravir joked that "no one noticed", it seems that viewers at home certainly did see the awkward blunder, with one tweeting: "#Lorraine What have Alison and Dermot been doing? #ThisMorning" following the hilarity.

It comes amid claims of toxicity behind-the-scenes of This Morning, following Phillip Schofield's resignation and subsequent affair confession.

Former show doctor, Dr Ranj Singh tweeted about his experiences on the show and claimed there was a "toxic environment" on set. He wrote: "I was on the show for 10 years and I genuinely loved and valued working there.

"However, over time I grew increasingly worried about how things were behind-the-scenes and how people, including myself, were being treated.

"I didn't know the truth about what was going on with Phillip, but I do know the issues with TM go far beyond him. It takes more than one person to create a culture."

The former Strictly Come Dancing star claims he raised his concerns and "I then found myself being used less and less."

"This Morning had become toxic… I felt like because I whistle-blew I was managed out. I was assured that certain things were going to be addressed and changes made. I haven't worked on the show since."

Following Ranj's statement, an ITV spokesperson told The Mirror: "We are sorry to read Dr Ranj’s post today. At ITV we are fully committed to providing every opportunity for anyone who works with us to raise any concern or comments they may have. Following a complaint made by Dr Ranj, we appointed an external and independent advisor to carry out a review. This external review found no evidence of bullying or discrimination."

Phillip then took to Instagram to defend the show, saying there is “no toxicity” at This Morning and “it’s the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show who seem to have the loudest voice”.

However, ex-This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes then branded Phillip "delusional", before adding: "I'm reluctant to give the liar any more publicity but believe me Pip, if you are looking for a fight, you have picked on the wrong person!"
