    The One Show viewers were left "cringing" after Kaye Adams made a surprise appearance on the BBC show.

    The Loose Women star, 60, was featured on the programme on Thursday (March 30) to surprise a woman named Sarah and reunite her with the people she has inspired over the years.

    After Sarah began sharing her story over a zoom call, Kaye unveiled herself on the camera and said: "Hi, it's Kaye Adams off the tele".

    While Sarah was shocked by her appearance, fans were distracted by the way she introduced herself and took to social media to brand the moment "cringe".

    One viewer wrote: "Very cringy from kaye Adams #theoneshow."

    "It's kay Adams off the tele" FFS what an arse #theoneshow," added a second.

    Another shared: "Why did Kaye say it that?? So cringe!! #TheOneShow".

    It comes after the presenter bid an emotional farewell to one of her Loose Women colleagues after 15-years on the ITV show.

    The host was joined by Nadia Sawalha, Jane Moore and Judi Love and admitted the team were "a little bit said" as they prepared to say goodbye to the show's deputy editor, Tom Sage.

    Kaye told viewers: "I hope you've had fun with us today, but it's a little bit sad for us.

    "Our dear friend and deputy editor of the show Tom is going off to a wonderful new life Down Under.

    "We're hoping he's going to be a boomerang and come back to us, we will miss him so so much. He is a wonderful colleague and an even more wonderful friend."

    Nadia added: "We will really miss him" as Jane agreed: "It's going to be so weird without him".

    The Strictly Come Dancing star noted how the ladies tried to get Tom to come on the show – but he ultimately refused.

    "We did try and get him to sit in the audience, but he wasn't going to do it but don't worry Tom, we're going to be with you in a few moments. Pop the champagne!".
