The One Show fans cringe at embarrassing blunder as camera fails to find guest
The One Show didn't exactly get off to a great start on Wednesday following an "embarrassing" faux pas that took place on-air.
Host's Jermaine Jenus, 38, and Sam Quek, 32, were left a tad flustered after they'd introduced Watchdog's Nikki Fox to the programme.
The 41-year-old presenter was due to update on an environmental segment but as she began speaking, the camera failed to find her in the studio.
Jermaine told viewers: "Well if you've got any questions for our guests tonight or comments about the rest of the show, then please do let is know in all the usual ways.
"But first, it's Wednesday so it's time for Watchdog with Nikki Fox."
There was an awkward pause as the camera then began to zoom out of the studio – with presenters and guest Stanly Tucci left sitting still on the large sofas.
Nikki can be heard in background saying: "Hey there we go," as Jermaine and Sam come back into view.
Still in prime focus, the football pundit chimed: "We got there in the end didn't we."
Now on screens, Nikki joked: "The camera found me. Yeah, thanks JJ."
Before adding: "I'm hard to find sometimes."
Being the true professional that she is, Nikki carried on as normal introducing her Watchdog segment.
While Jermaine and Sam attempted to cover up the error in the best way that they could, it didn't go unnoticed by many fans at home, who took to Twitter to covey their thoughts.
One Tweet read: "Was that a complete misunderstanding? #TheOneShow."
Another added: "Good grief 🙁 #TheOneShow @BBCOne #embarrassing presenting."
A third wrote: "Every night this week but tonight is PARTICULARLY bad #theoneshow."
The One Show airs weekdays on BBC One at 7pm.
