The Most Exciting Marvel Announcements From San Diego Comic-Con 2019
Every year at San Diego Comic-Con, fans flock from far and wide to learn what’s to come with their favorite films and TV shows. But no panel at SDCC brings with it more fervor than Hall H’s Saturday Marvel Studios event. Here are the most exciting announcements to come out of the 2019’s MCU presentation.
The release dates for the next five films in the MCU
As fans of the MCU know, Phase 3 officially came to a close with the 22nd film, this month’s Spider-Man: Far From Home. And most of us had heard whispers of what was on the horizon, but now, it’s official:
The next five films are Black Widow (May 1, 2020), The Eternals (Nov. 6, 2020), Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (Feb. 12, 2021), Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness (May 7, 2021), and Thor: Love and Thunder (Nov. 5, 2021).
A first glimpse at the film’s casts
Again, we knew a little about who might (and might not) be continuing to work with Marvel, but all of this was speculation until the Hall H announcements. Here’s who is set to star in each film:

Finally, the news that’s been percolating for the last week has been confirmed: Thor 4 is happening. It’s actually titled Thor: Love and Thunder, and will bring together the intriguing trio of the OG Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), and the new Thor, Natalie Portman’s Jane.
Some TV news was made official
As anyone who follows popular culture has been made aware, Disney is launching its own streaming service, Disney+, in November. We’re heard a little about the Marvel series in the works, but now, we have confirmation.

We’ll get to see more of the romance between Olsen’s Scarlet Witch and Vision (Paul Bettany), ostensibly before his demise in Avengers: Infinity War. Also joining them will be Teyonah Parris (Dear White People) as a grown-up Monica Rambeau.

Amongst all of the live-action is one animated series, What If…? This is based on a comic series that imagines what could have happened to various popular MCU characters if circumstances had been different. Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) will voice The Watcher, but no other casting announcements were made.
