Guesses and theories are already flooding in thick and fast from The Masked Singer fans after Saturday’s premiere saw half a dozen disguised celebs perform. The ITV premiere saw Chandelier unveiled as M People singer Heather Small but with 11 famous faces still in the competition, it’s anyone’s guess who remains. Another six will take to the stage on Sunday and one costume which has already caught the eye is none other than Bagpipes – with some fans convinced they’ve rumbled their identity before they’ve even performed.

Bagpipes will take on Panda on Sunday evening as both disguised celebs try to keep their spot in the competition.

Alongside them, Rockhopper and Traffic Cone will be going head to head, while Poodle and Snow Leopard battle it out.

If Bagpipes is eliminated, the Highland-themed performer will be forced to reveal their identity to judges Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall and Rita Ora.

But a handful of The Masked Singer fans are convinced they know who Bagpipes is before even removing their headpiece – and it’s none other than Love Island’s Iain Stirling.

Iain has emerged as a popular pick among the fandom and there are plenty of clues to explain why.

The Scottish-born presenter clearly has links to the Bagpipes costume, being from Scotland himself.

The comedian – who’s married to Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore – is also no stranger to popping up across some ITV’s biggest titles.

As well as Love Island, Iain fronts his own ITV2 game show CelebAbility and has also enjoyed appearances on Loose Women, Celebrity Juice, The Stand-Up Sketch Show and This Morning.

Iain’s CV also includes presenting gigs on BBC’s The One Show, guest appearances on Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox and ITV even commissioned his own comedy-drama Buffering in 2021.

So it’s no surprise his popularity and ties to the Bagpipes costume has landed him as a possible candidate to be underneath the disguise.

Taking to Twitter, a number of fans put forward their guesses and Iain’s name soon popped up.

Twitter user @Television_Live asked outright: “@IainDoesJokes Is that you behind the Bagpipe mask??? #MaskedSingerUK.”

“Poodle – Gemma Collins, Mushroom-Toyal Wilcox, Firework- H Steps, Robobunny-Jamie Oliver, Panda- Neil Morrisey, Doughnut-Ainsley Harriot.” (Sic)

Of course, fans will have to wait until Sunday night’s episode to see if Bagpipes is unveiled as Iain.

But if Bagpipes sails through to the next stage of the competition, fans could be waiting a while to see who’s under the mask.

Following the season premiere and Heather Small’s elimination, a number of other stars have been tipped to be the disguised performers.

Michael Owen has emerged as a likely candidate to be under the Doughnuts mask.

While Doctor Who star Aisling Bea is being tipped as the voice under Mushroom’s disguise.

The Masked Singer continues Sunday at 7:30pm on ITV.
