'The Mandalorian': Baby Yoda Just Provided Fans With The Best Meme to Describe 2020 and Season 2 Isn't Even Here Yet
When Disney dropped The Mandalorian in the fall of 2020, no one knew about Baby Yoda until the end of chapter 1. The entire Star Wars universe kept The Child under wraps, and then the internet blew up with Baby Yoda memes. It’s happening again, and season 2 hasn’t even begun. Check out the latest meme to go viral.
When is ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2 coming to Disney +?
Season 2 of The Mandalorian is coming this October to Disney+. Creator Jon Favreau revealed months before season 1 premiered that the next installment was already in the works. The show wrapped production before the coronavirus (COVID-19) caused a shutdown of all Hollywood sets.
So, The Mandalorian Season 2 is one of the few shows not affected by the pandemic. Baby Yoda will return to the small-screen on Oct. 30, 2020. In the next installment, Mando (Pedro Pascal) will attempt to reunite The Child with the Jedi to keep the little green creature safe.
Fans can’t stop talking about the latest trailer for ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2
On Sept. 15, 2020, Disney dropped a second trailer for The Mandalorian Season 2.
“Show me the one whose safety deemed such destruction,” the Armorer (Emily Swallow) tells Mando. “You must reunite it with its own kind.”
Mando’s friends, Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), and Cara Dune (Gina Carano) are also back for season 2. The trailer looks like Mando will reunite with his allies on Nevarro some time after their fight with the Empire last season.
A lot is going on in the almost two-minute trailer, including firefights, duels, and X-wings. Not to mention, that hooded character (portrayed by WWE superstar Sasha Banks), who many fans thought might be Ahsoka Tano.
What new meme did Baby Yoda provide for fans?
The best part of the latest trailer for The Mandalorian Season 2 is when Baby Yoda again provides the comic relief.
“You know this is no place for a child,” a one-eyed alien Abyssin says to The child’s protector.
“Wherever I go, he goes,” Mando responds.
“So I’ve heard,” the creature says back as criminals begin turning their blasters on Mando.
That’s when Baby Yoda presses the button on his pod to take cover. The screen goes black, and fighting ensues.
Fans can’t help but retweet this moment with quotes of their own.
“Baby Yoda arriving on Earth in 2020” might be the best one, with everything that has happened this year.
“Baby Yoda said ‘nope’” tweeted another fan.
However, most remarks somehow involved the new gif and the year 2020.
“How we all feel about 2020,” another Star Wars fan tweeted with the Baby Yoda gif.
