Strictly bosses beef up security to protect stars amid ‘sinister threats’

Security measures have reportedly been tightened by bosses at Strictly Come Dancing ahead of this year’s live show in Blackpool.

Bosses are said to be convinced that stars of the BBC dancing show are “at risk” away from their London studios and all cast members are being trained on “how to protect themselves”.

Contestants were apparently assigned codenames in a secret briefing as security was amped at Elstree in North London, according to The Sun.

The news comes after professional dancer Giovanni Pernice was attacked by masked muggers a few weeks ago.
