Spoilers: Stacey terror after dark Kush threat in EastEnders

It wouldn’t be EastEnders without a bit of drama involving the Slaters, and right now Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) is at the centre of a huge problem involving Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) and his gambling addiction.

Kush’s problem has spiralled out of control, and even risked the family losing their home. In a bid to find money, Kush joined Kat (Jessie Wallace), Phil (Steve McFadden) and Ben (Max Bowden) in a crime job but after it went wrong, he spent time hiding from the police.

However, consumed with guilt and not wanting to miss out on Christmas with his son Arthur, Kush handed himself into the police, and is now facing the worrying prospect he could face years in prison, and if he agrees to Phil’s idea, the sentence could be even longer if he takes the responsibility for some of the Mitchell’s recent crimes.

With Kush set to get desperate soon, Lacey Turner revealed her thoughts when Stacey discovers Kush is missing with Arthur…

‘I think it’s quite early that morning that she’s wondering where they are but then again this is Kush and he’s a good guy and in her head she’s trying not to worry. She’s also got Martin telling her it’s all fine too. When it gets past being him gone a while it’s very worrying though – Stacey and Kat are frantic.’

During a scene, Arthur answers Stacey’s phone and mentions an aeroplane, and Lacey explained what goes through Stacey’s mind at that point:

‘Her whole world freezes in that moment she’s absolutely petrified because she knows that Kush could have some help and is wanting to avoid prison so he’s trying to take him out of the country.’

Kush has reached a dark place, and as he’s so desperate to avoid prison, he goes to the new lengths of threatening Stacey, and Lacey added how concerned her character is at the moment:

‘Yeah I think she’s more shocked, it’s very out of character for Kush but lately he hasn’t really been himself. He’s been gambling and lying about it all so who knows what he’s capable of now. Stacey would never forgive him, I think Stacey and Kat immediately suspect the worst whereas it takes Martin a bit more time to come to terms with what his best friend might have done. It’s really tough on them all.’

It’s not just drama for Stacey coming up soon, as sparks are set to fly between her and Martin (James Bye) as they share a moment…

‘They do! She still loves him and gets some encouragement too so just goes for it – whether she regrets it or not we’ll have to wait and see!’

With Martin being with Ruby (Louisa Lytton), this moment no doubt has the potential to lead to disaster!
