Spoilers: Faye in deadly danger during Corrie's 60th anniversary week?

When Scott Emberton (Tom Roberts) in Coronation Street burst through the doors of the bistro and held everyone at gun point, it left several characters fearing for their lives.

Scott wanted Ray Crosby’s (Mark Frost) money, and was prepared to do whatever it took so he could get it, including threatening to shoot Faye Windass (Ellie Leach).

Luckily for Faye, Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) aka her knight in shining armour (or police officer in a high-vis jacket) came round the corner and saved her life, but was shot by Scott during his life-saving move.

Lately, we’ve seen Faye a lot. She’s been involved in Geoff’s (Ian Bartholomew) drama as he continues to interfere in Faye’s and her family’s life, and she’s also been in a lot of scenes with Ray too as she works shifts at the restaurant.

With Ray continuing his plot to destroy the street to make way for his new development during the 60th anniversary week, we’re starting to wonder if Faye working for Ray will become a lot worse than what it already is, and as Ray prepares to bulldoze Weatherfield, will Faye find herself in danger?

Let’s take a look at what’s happened recently on the cobbles, and why she could be about to play a key role in the celebration week next month…

Poor Faye was feeling sorry for herself after being dumped by boyfriend Noah, but it didn’t take long until Craig swooped in and cheered her up, and ever since he saved Faye from getting shot, the two of them have been growing closer.

Craig is a protective person; we know this after he helped Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) during her grooming storyline. As upcoming scenes will see Craig discover Ray’s ideas for the redevelopment, could he stars to worry that Faye may be at some sort of risk in Ray’s company?

If so, it wouldn’t surprise us if he ends up telling her about Ray’s secret scheme.

Craig knows Ray is dodgy, but there’s something bothering him too – he can’t quite put his finger on why he doesn’t like the businessman, and certainly doesn’t know the true extent of what Ray can do when someone pushes his buttons.

If Craig does end up telling Faye about the blueprints he found, she would’ve unintentionally gotten herself into some pretty hot water. Ray will no doubt try to buy Craig’s silence, potentially using his career as a police officer to his advantage.

However, if nothing works and Craig sees what Ray is trying to do, things could take a turn and Ray may use Faye against Craig, blackmailing him and saying he will hurt her if he doesn’t keep quiet.

Since the moment Ray arrived on the cobbles, we quickly discovered his creepy, sleazy personality. He tried to make Michelle (Kym Marsh) sign a gagging order after he propositioned her for sex and she declined, and he attempted a similar thing with Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) but with the help of Bethany and Abi (Sally Carman), they were able to expose his true nature.

As Ray seems to think he has some sort of control over women, Faye might be in serious danger if she announces to Ray that she knows about his latest business idea. Will Ray make Faye sign her own gagging order?

Yasmeen’s (Shelley King) trial will be one of the storylines playing out during the anniversary week, which means due to Geoff’s involvement, it’s practically inevitable we will see a lot of Tim (Joe Duttine), Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Faye during the dramatic episodes. Ray’s plans and Yasmeen’s trial are two separate storylines, but who could soon be associated with both? Faye. Just a coincidence? Perhaps not.

After the shooting, Faye and Tim talked about how brave Craig was to put himself in front of Faye to save her from getting shot. During the conversation, Tim mentioned how if her or Sally were ever in trouble, he’d like to think he’d be able to save them – maybe this is foreshadowing events that’ll take place next month?

If Faye involves herself in Ray’s proposal to destroy her home and so many others, and continues to support her dad as Geoff’s meddling continues, it’s highly likely she may be the one innocently caught up in the gripping events set to take place in December.

Faye doesn’t have a hugely exciting job and other than her families own problems, she has a fairly quiet life, which is why if Faye finds herself mixed up with Ray, the repercussions could be massive.

Now we know Debbie (Sue Devaney) is working with Ray, all the shifts Faye is currently doing at the bistro may play to her advantage, causing her to overhear secret information between the two of them?

But if she discovers such vital information on the future of the cobbles, will she tell someone and risk an angry Ray if he realises people are out to thwart his plans? Or will the danger Faye finds herself in be as a result of someone else?

Geoff’s time on the cobbles is slowly running out, and we already know he will be a big part in the anniversary week due to Yasmeen’s trial, and add Faye’s potential peril into the mix, perhaps Geoff will be the one that creates a situation where Faye is caught in the crossfire?

With Geoff’s exit looming, Faye finding herself maybe fearing for her life courtesy of her grandad could perhaps set his long-awaited departure up nicely.

Let’s not forget Faye’s brother Gary (Mikey North) is also a part of Ray’s team, so whatever jeopardy the young girl might find herself in in the coming weeks, it has the capability to ripple into something even bigger involving so many people, and — with Tim’s life has changed already this year — his daughter getting hurt may change things forever.
