The businesswoman will be taking to the dancefloor tonight for the first competitive show of Strictly Come Dancing 2021. She’ll be among the 15 famous faces set to strut their stuff on the dancefloor, hoping to impress the judges. But before the BBC show started, the 37-year-old already had someone in mind to watch out for. It seems fellow contestant, Olympian Adam Peaty, is on her radar as a friend warned her to “watch out for Olympians”.
During last week’s launch show, Sara was paired with professional Aljaž Škorjanec.
She met her partner for the first time at the Angel of the North.
She said: “For me, this is just the perfect place. I wouldn’t want to be meeting my partner anywhere else.”
The entrepreneur was delighted to be partnered with Aljaž and detailed how excited she was to begin her Strictly Come Dancing journey with him.
But speaking to Express.co.uk and other media ahead of the live shows, Sara explained: “One of the things that one of my friends said to me, she said: ‘Gotta watch them Olympians’.”
She added: “They are used to have a single laser vision, and just training for something beyond belief.
“So I think that is worrying me, I know I’ve got a lot of drive, and a lot of passion and I will just keep training.
“But I worry that these are the people who are trained to have relentless drive and passion more than I have.
“And they have used it to achieve Olympic gold medals, which is a lot more than I’ve done!”
Gold medal-winning swimmer Adam Peaty, 26, will be competing against Sara, so he will no doubt be one to watch for her.
Also speaking to the media, he confessed he is used to gruelling training.
“As a sportsperson, I’m constantly getting challenged in the water, out of the water,” he said.
“I’m used to training and used to working hard, but I’ve taken a bit of time away from training, which has been in my life for the whole of my life basically.
“And for me, it’s just all about a challenge.”
But he may actually be at a slight disadvantage as he admitted he was the last contestant to have started training.
He remarked: “Well, funnily enough, I think I’m the only one who’s not training.
“For me, I’m just trying to keep my fitness but at the same time I’ve taken a lot of time off.
“I know it’s going to be very hard and will be very different, but once the training starts, I’ll work hard – very hard.”
Meanwhile, after being paired with Aljaž, Sara commented: “I cannot tell you how ridiculously beyond thrilled I am to have been paired with Aljaž.”
Aljaž added: “I really love people who are committed and driven and Sara is a hard worker for sure.”
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays at 7pm on BBC One.
