Poll of Love Island fans reveals who the most and least popular contestants are – do you agree? | The Sun

SHE initially rubbed viewers up the wrong way but now Love Island fans are backing Gemma Owen to win.

In The Sun’s online poll, the daughter of former football ace Michael Owen came out favourably compared to almost all the other contestants.

Gemma seems to have won over those watching at home, due to being a “girls’ girl” and forming what looks like a genuine partnership with fishmonger Luca Bish.

A TV insider said: “It’s been quite a turnaround for the 19-year-old, who most people viewed as a spoilt celebrity’s daughter when she first came into the villa. Now people have got to see more of Gemma, they are warming to her.”

Our readers were asked a series of questions about the Islanders and the responses were surprising. Asked if they thought Gemma was too young for the show — a criticism levelled at her from day one — more than 63 per cent said, “No, she is a grown woman.”

When asked, “Do you think producers make her seem too serious?”, a resounding 87 per cent agreed.

Love Island fans beg Gemma Owen to tell crying Paige the truth about Jacques

Meanwhile, after this week’s challenge, almost a third said she was their favourite female Islander compared to her fellow stars, with Indiyah the least popular with just nine per cent.

Fans were less confident about her romance with Luca, with 57 per cent saying it was “heading south”.

But asked which couple Casa Amor spelt the most trouble for, Gemma and Luca polled bottom with six per cent. While Tasha and Andrew got 41 per cent.

Forget those honed physiques, these are the most important figures in the villa.

Kemps’ feels

THE One Show’s ROMAN KEMP says radio will always be his first love.

A DOCUMENTARY delving into the disappearance of Australian Millionairess Melissa Caddick has been commissioned by ITV.

The financial advisor vanished while going for a jog in Sydney in November 2020.

Three months later, surfers on a beach 250 miles away came across a running shoe which was found to contain her remains.

It transpired that Melissa had cheated 74 victims, including friends and family, out of £13million.

Speaking of Life And Limb: The Missing Millionairess, executive producer Fatima Salaria says: “Potentially finding out what happened to Melissa could bring closure for so many of the people involved.”
Sounds fascinating.

BRADLEY COOPER is one of Hollywood’s hottest hunks, except in his latest drama.

The superstar transforms into legendary American composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein in Maestro, a biopic about the musician’s life.

He stars alongside Carey Mulligan, who plays his wife Felicia Montealegre, plus A-list pals Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

The Netflix epic is his first directorial effort since The Star Is Born, which bagged co-star Lady Gaga an Oscar for Best Original Song.

The movie was delayed for a year due to Covid but production is very much in full swing here in LA.

Clearly the makeup team are putting in the most hours.

CELEBRITY chef Big Zuu has revealed how actor Ross Kemp's bald bonce unwittingly helped him when he bagged two TV Baftas.

Big Zuu – real name Zuhair Hassan – told Chris Evans’ Virgin Radio Breakfast Show: “I remember getting on the stage thinking, ‘Wow this is a large crowd’. Then I thought, ‘I can’t look down the barrel of the camera and I can’t look at the autocue’.

“But then I saw Ross Kemp’s head. I thought , ‘Oh my God that’s Ross Kemp, his head is really shiny’.

The chef said his speech about his humble upbringing at the May awards bash “was 100 per cent down to Ross Kemp’s head. He doesn’t know this but that was a great focal point for me.”

Ramsay’s hit list

CHRIS and ROSIE RAMSAY have an unlikely formula to their newly-minted hit chat show.

Chatting about the BBC1 show after picking up Best Podcast at the TRIC awards, Chris said: “If you’re a celeb couple out there and you’re fully in love and you never argue – we don’t want you on the show. For series two we’ve got a hit list of celebrity couples, we just want them to prove that everyone’s relationship is the same.”
