Peter Andre reveals heartbreaking moment he had to tell his kids they couldn't hug mum Emily as she battled coronavirus

PETER Andre has revealed the heartbreaking moment he had to tell his young children they couldn't hug their mum while she battled coronavirus.

The 47-year-old singer revealed Amelia, six, and Theo, three, asked: "Why can't I go to Mum?" as Emily isolated at the top of their Surrey mansion.

The Sun Online revealed earlier this month that the 30-year-old NHS doctor battled the disease in March, with a test later confirming she had coronavirus antibodies.

Writing in his New magazine column, Pete explained: "It was a really scary time and also hard because I had six people in the house to look after.

"She self-isolated on the top floor, as did Junior, and we made out to the younger children that Ems was at work during the day.

"But eventually they spotted her from the garden!"

He continued: "It was so difficult when Theo and Mills were like: 'Why can't I go to Mum?'"

Peter added that he thought Junior didn't have coronavirus like Emily because he had cold symptoms two weeks before he developed a temperature.

As The Sun Online revealed, Emily, who has been working on the NHS frontline since the pandemic started, started to feel "very unwell" with a headache, sore throat and aching limbs.

She then took a government-approved test at her hospital in Surrey that came back positive.

Peter is a dad of four, having older children Junior and Princess with ex-wife Katie Price.

The pair, who met while appearing on I'm A Celeb together, split in 2009 and the singer went on to marry Emily in the summer of 2015.

They have now discussed having not one but two more children in the three years before Peter turns 50 after growing closer in lockdown.
