Dr Hilary explained on Good Morning Britain the reassuring zero coronavirus death figures seen on Tuesday are a result of a Bank Holiday weekend recording lag and it would be likely to see a surge later this week as the reporting catches up. He added the deaths and hospitalisations that were seen today are the results of cases that happened over three months ago rather than anything immediate. Dr Hilary said it was extremely likely to see a rise in cases and hospitalizations in the next few weeks as cases lead to hospitalisations several weeks from initial infection which then could lead to death.
