This Morning host Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby made their return to the ITV daytime show on Monday morning after they took an extended break over the Christmas holidays. Whilst they were away, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary stepped in as replacements for the duo. However, as they returned from celebrating the festive holidays, Phillip joked that neither he nor Holly could remember how to do their presenting job.

After the theme song ended, Holly and Phillip were sat at the table with Holly exclaiming: “Hello, good morning and welcome to your Monday’s This Morning, we are back!”

Phillip turned to his co-star and said: “How lovely to see you,” before turning to the camera to address the audience and also greet viewers.

Holly added: “Oh, we missed you, hope you’re alright, hope you’ve had a lovely Christmas and all that sort of thing!”

Phillip continued: “Anyway it’s very lovely to see you, here we go, brand new year for us, obviously you can see they were all back last week doing an amazing job.

“But we’re back, we did actually say before had not 100 per cent sure we can remember how to do it but here we go!”

Holly went on to reveal: “I’ve only just put the lid on the Quality Street guys, you know the ones you really don’t want that are sort of just there, the lid is firmly on and here we are for a brand new year!”
