Who is in the cast of NCIS season 19?

NCIS was renewed for its 19th season before the season 18 finale, however, there are a few major changes in store for the series.

Ellie Bishop (played by Emily Wickersham) left the series during the season 18 finale, leaving a gap to be filled in the cast.

There have been reports that Mark Harmon has also been considering walking away from the series.

However, there will be some familiar faces back, alongside some new ones for the upcoming season.

Express.co.uk has all the details on the cast of NCIS season 19.

Agent Gibbs – Mark Harmon

Mark Harmon is returning as Agent Leroy Gibbs despite reports the star was looking to leave the series.

Yet, Harmon will be playing a much smaller role this time around and will only appear in a handful of episodes.

The star was looking to leave the show following season 18, but CBS admitted they would look at cancelling the series if Harmon walked away.

An agreement was made to keep the star in the show with the series taking it “year by year” according to CBS Entertainment boss Kelly Kahl.

Harmon has been a member of the cast since the show premiered in 2003 and him taking a backseat represents the biggest change for the show since it began.

Nick Torres – Wilmer Valderrama

Originally joining the cast in 2016, Wilmer Valderrama will be back as Nick Torres for another season.

Torres had a will they, won’t they relationship with Ellie Bishop throughout the series, with the pair having an emotional farewell during the season 18 finale.

The character will now be taking a new direction following Wickersham’s exit, with the plot details of season 19 remaining unknown.

Valderrama has appeared in over 100 episodes and will likely be stepping up his leading role in season 19.

Jessica Knight – Katrina Law

First appearing in season 18, Katrina Law has just been confirmed to be joining the cast as a series regular.

Fans predicted Law’s Jessica Knight would make a logical replacement for Ellie Bishop after she appeared in the final episodes of season 18.

The star is best known for her role in the Arrowverse as Nyssa al Ghul and has already proved to be popular on NCIS.

One fan took to Twitter following the announcement saying: “I enjoy @katrinalaw beautiful and oozing talent and smart.”

FBI Special Agent Alden Park – Gary Cole

The biggest change for season 19 is the inclusion of Gary Cole as Agent Alden Park for season 19.

CBS made the announcement of Cole’s and Law’s casting on Twitter, with the post reading: “Gary Cole and Katrina Law are joining the cast of #NCIS! Watch Mondays at 9/8c this Fall on #CBS.”

Cole is best known for his roles in The West Wing, Dodgeball, Pineapple Express and Chicago Fire.

CBS has not confirmed any details about the character of Park, however, he looks set to be a replacement for Gibbs now that Harmon is easing out of the role.

Fans are worried about the future of the series now that Harmon is stepping away, with one fan replying to the announcement on Twitter.

The fan wrote: “As much as I love this show and its spin-offs, I think this might be the last season.”

NCIS is available to watch weekly on CBS.
