Ever since his introduction at the start of NCIS season 14, Nick Torres (played by Wilmer Valderrama) has quickly become one of the CBS drama’s most popular stalwarts. However, this doesn’t mean the team’s fearless special agent has been spared from the show’s typical blend of hard-hitting drama and bone-crushing action scenes – from the heartbreaking relationship with his father Miguel (Steven Bauer) to the devastating exit of love interest Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham). However, the tough storylines show no signs of slowing down for Torres judging by Valderrama’s latest Instagram clue.

With NCIS now in its 19th season, Torres has cemented himself as one of the drama’s most pivotal characters.

Plus, with long-serving Gibbs (Mark Harmon) bowing out earlier in season 19, it’s now left to Torres, McGee (Sean Murray) and Jessica Knight (Katrina Law) to work with new leader Parker (Gary Cole) to keep the bad guys at bay and the viewers watching at home.

With NCIS now on a brief hiatus and not returning until November 29, however, fans will have to wait to see what lies ahead for Torres and co. – although it’s not looking good for Valderrama’s character.

Taking to Instagram on November 12, Valderrama shared a clip of himself in the makeup room as Torres – covered in cuts, bruises and a very bloodied face.

Valderrama accompanied the clip with a cryptic and short caption that read:Dark times ahead for Special Agent Torres. #NCIS [zipped mouth emoji].”

The verified NCIS account replied to the mysterious clip with a set of eye-looking emojis.

However, it didn’t take long for several of the NCIS star’s 1.8million followers to fear the worst – especially considering the long list of departing characters of late.

Last year, Jack Sloane (Maria Bello) and Bishop both announced their departures and Gibbs followed suit a few weeks back.

So reacting to seeing Torres in such a state, fans have pleaded for Valderrama’s character not to follow suit.

“Just please don’t leave the show!!! Love our Torres [love heart emoji],” Instagram user @soccermom142 said.

“This is setting you up to leave the show to is it,” @kjohnson2646 feared while @grahambelle similarly expected the worst: “I shall not accept. I cannot process all the things. All the changes.”

User @marissajaretwinokur added: “Noooooooooo noooooo you know I can’t take this.” (Sic)

And the concern didn’t stop there, with @sweetbabygrl weighing in: “@wilmervalderrama your character better not go anywhere [cry emoji] I was crushed enough when G left.”

“Don’t leave NCIS,” @jheartsmusic commented while @kimmywilliams2018 simply put: “Just… don’t… die…”

@miranda.aguirre12 was also left worried: “I swear. All i know if he better not also leave the show. Ugh.”

While @altluvafrica replied: “Dude!!! As long as you don’t leave too I’m good. Torres is a bad ass and you should see the other guy!!”

Valderrama did his best not to give away any more spoilers regarding a possible exit for Torres.

But with such devastating injuries inflicted on Torres in upcoming scenes, the future certainly isn’t looking bright.

Fans will have to tune into NCIS when the CBS drama returns at the end of the month to see if Torres will stay put or not.

NCIS season 19 returns to CBS on Monday, November 29. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
