NCIS fans were left gutted when Agent Leroy Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) officially left the CBS drama. There had been rumours of his potential departure for some time now, given how actor Harmon is now 70-years-old and had been in NCIS from the very beginning. The dust is just starting to settle after Gibbs’ emotional exit scenes but talk has started on another character leaving the police procedural.

Is Nick Torres leaving as Wilmer Valderrama lands new project?
Agent Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) has been part of the NCIS family for five years.
He had an on-off flirtationship with Agent Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) throughout this period until the end of series 18.
Bishop was working on an undercover mission with Odette Malone (Elayn Taylor) and so needed to appear to be leaving NCIS in disgrace, thus why she pretended to leak confidential files.
Torres and Bishop had an emotional goodbye and kissed before she left for good.
With Bishop no longer in the picture, this did cause some concern for the future of Torres in the series.
This was heightened by the announcement Valderrama is currently working on another series for CBS.
When news of family-comedy Mexican Beverly Hills came out, Valderrama took to Instagram to post: “Erick, Aaron, Kaitlin all bases loaded.. let’s swing away.
“Another victory, for our @officialwventertainment family and I couldn’t be more proud of the heart that goes into everything we develop!”
In response, some fans started to question if this meant the beginning of the end for Torres in NCIS.
In response to his post, one follower wrote: “Wait a minute…..are you leaving NCIS????”
Another commented: “Whatever you are working on, it will be great! Just please don’t ever leave NCIS.”
While a third insisted the 41-year-old “can’t leave” the CBS drama.

But there is no need to worry about Valderrama’s future in NCIS just yet.
There has been no talk of Torres making his exit any time soon so, for now at least, he will remain in the series.
In terms of his new show, Valderrama is acting as an executive producer for Mexican Beverly Hills under his movie and TV production company WV Entertainment.
So Valderrama will not be starring in the series himself as he takes on a behind-the-scenes role.
Instead of replacing one show with the other, Valderrama is most likely working on his new series when he isn’t filming for NCIS.
Mexican Beverly Hills is based on The New York Times personal essay by Erick Galindo.
The series will focus on a Mexican-American family who move to the wealthy and mostly Latinx city of Downey in Southeast Los Angeles.
NCIS season 19 is available to watch every Monday on CBS in America. A UK release date hasn’t been announced.
