Inside Zoe Ball's incredible £1.5m Sussex home after son Woody claims millionaire parents have 'cut him off financially'

ZOE Ball moved into an incredible £1.5million Sussex mansion after her huge pay rise last year – despite son Woody struggling for money.

The radio presenter, 49, and her beau Michael Reed packed up their bags and moved 18 minutes down the road to their new pad in Lewes.

The pair have moved from their stunning £1m cottage in Ditchling, East Sussex to the popular country town which is just eight miles away.

Their new £1.5m abode, which was built by a Russian aristocrat, Baron Vladimir de Wolff in the 1920s, boasts a swimming pool, tennis court and acres of land to enjoy.

Snaps show off the incredible six-bedroom property, which is decorated in traditional countryside style with heaps of hand-made wooden furniture.

Despite the plentiful spare bedrooms – which overlook the huge garden – Zoe's son, Woody Cook doesn't live with them.

Woody, 20, hit the headlines after admitting that his mum and dad won't let him live off their success – despite the former couple being worth a combined £35million.

"Everyone has to leave their nest, go on their own path and forge their own lives. My parents have always expressed I must have a capacity to leave the nest and I have rather successfully for the most part," he explained.

"I chose to be self sufficient early as living without the financial aid of my parents is as important to me as it is to pretty much anyone else."

Taking to Instagram last year, Zoe thanked removal company Smooth Mover Removals for helping them change locations and hinted to followers that she has an even "bigger veg patch" now.

She wrote: "Major love for this hilarious hardworking crew for moving us today. Simon & @smoothmoverremovals you guys rock."

And it looks like the move has come in good time as it was revealed earlier this month that the presenter bagged herself a £1million pay rise.

Despite losing a million listeners on her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, the mum-of-three now has a new salary of £1.36m.

It emerged as the BBC revealed it's top earners for this year – and not everyone was as lucky as Zoe with the likes of Gary Lineker getting paid £405k less than the previous year.

Zoe's pay has soared from £370,000 last year to £1.36million this year.

The star took over the morning slot from Chris Evans last year and bosses think that despite losing listeners, she's done a good job.

BBC director-general Tim Davie defended Zoe's pay after she lost millions of listeners in the first year in her new role, saying it was a "punchy" market.

He said: "Zoe is absolutely a broadcaster at the top of her game. She's delivering over eight million listeners."

And it seems that things are also going well with her private life too after moving house with her boyfriend of three years, Michael.

The Strictly: It Takes Two host was first linked with construction firm boss back in 2017 when they were spotted heading to a hotel after a night out in Soho.

A year later the couple made their first official red carpet appearance in December 2018 and since then their relationship has been going from strength to strength.

Their romance came after Zoe was left devastated by the suicide of her TV cameraman boyfriend Billy Yates, in May 2017.

Zoe first rose to fame when she became the first female host of The Radio 1 Breakfast Show in 1998.

Since then her career has sky rocketed and has gone on to appear in various shows including Strictly Come Dancing and from that managed bag herself a role as spin-off host – It Takes Two – in 2011.

The star was married to Norman Cook from 1999 until 2016.

They have two children together, Woody, and daughter Nelly, 11.
