Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid appeared to roll her eyes at her co-star Richard Madeley's jokes.

On Tuesday's episode (March 28), Susanna didn't seem to find the funny side of Richard's humour as he joked about "mammoth meat".

The hosts were debating whether ITV viewers would be willing to try "mammoth meat" which has been made using DNA from the extinct animal and African elephants in a lab.

Though Richard went on to make several jokes about the invention, which left host Susanna looking unimpressed.

Richard made quips about the meat and teased ITV viewers could soon be growing tusks.

The ITV breakfast showed a clip of the meatball to viewers when Richard said: "That is mammoth meat.

"That is predominantly extinct meat. What next? Dodo diners, dinosaur dinners?"

Susanna then interjected: "What that makes me think, if it is just DNA and it's cultivated in a lab, is there anything actually animal about it?

"What I mean by that is, could a vegan eat it because it didn't involve killing animals?"

Richard then responded: "That's a really good question. We will ask [the people in Amsterdam] who did this.

"Can you eat a mammoth meatball and remain vegan? It's fascinating."

He then joked: "Or would you grow tusks?" which failed to impress his co-host.

His co-star Susanna was then captured rolling her eyes before she flashed a smile at the camera.

Fans of the show took to social media to share their thoughts on the invention.

One viewer wrote: "Sorry but I could never be so desperate to eat meat that I’d eat genetically created mammoth and elephant meatballs. Revolting #gmb #goodmorningbritain."

A second added: "@GMB @richardm56 @susannareid100 where did they find the DNA for those meatballs sounds like something that would of been growing in my student fridge years ago #gmb #happytuesday"

GMB continues to air weekdays from 6am on ITV.
