GMBs Ben Shephard left baffled after suffering awkward time gaffe live on air

Ben Shephard made a mistake on Thursday's programme after announcing that This Morning would be starting at 10:30am instead of the correct time of 10 o'clock.

Hosting the GMB lineup with him was Susanna Reid, who helped him introduce the next segment.

Ben started off by saying: "If you want a little bit more of Andi Peters by the way…"

To which Susana interjected: "We all want a little more of Andi Peters."

Ben then continued: "He is hosting This Morning, with the lovely Rochelle. So he is going to be popping up at 10:30 this morning, holding the fort…"

Co-star Susanna looked at Ben very confused and asked him: "Were you a bit confused about the timing then?"

Ben responded: "After Lorraine… Is it 10 o'clock? It's 10 o'clock. Sorry Andi, I just cut short your shift."

Susanna laughed at his gaffe and jokingly said: "We are all one big daytime family."

After his early rise for the show and summer off, Ben referred to how tired he was and that he needed to get some rest.

He added: "I'm going to sleep as soon as I come off air."

This comes after the presenting pair had just interviewed their former colleague Piers Morgan's wife, Celia Walden.

She featured on the show to discuss the ins and out of her new novel called Payday.

When interviewed by hosts Ben and Susanna, journalist and author Celia explained that there are some parallels between her husband and the character in the book.

The thriller storyline is based on a ruthless man who has a love-hate relationship with his colleagues in the workplace.

Susanna began: "Well you have put all your energy into this terrific novel, I'm not just saying that because it's you.

"I found it really hard in the last year-and-a-half to read fiction and at the time you sent this to me with a lovely note about 'did I know anyone who was impossible to work with and if I did then I might enjoy reading this'."

She then added: "It's terrific and it's quite ruthless and brutal."

Celia responded: "It is brutal but I have always been fascinated by unlikely bonds between women, and I think nothing bonds people more by hating the same man, I feel like everything I'm saying has terrible parallels."
