GMB viewers all have same complaint as Richard Madeley discusses porn watching MP Neil Parish

GOOD Morning Britain viewers were left unimpressed this morning as Richard Madeley appeared sympathetic towards porn watching MP Neil Parish.

The presenter returned to the morning TV show today alongside Kate Garraway and kicked off discussing the latest Commons scandal.

Richard asked the panellists: "All jokes aside do we see it as a watershed moment in this country and the way people behave in the Commons?"

He added: " Do you feel sorry for him?"

Explaining his stance on the situation, Richard said: "I don’t know about you but I was sort of inclined to take that at face value because there is no suggestion that he had a track record for doing this. It’s not like he was always looking furtively at his phone in the Commons.

"It seems to have been his first and second offence. I think for a politician, if you saw the whole interview, it was quite a mea culpa."

Those watching at home were unimpressed and took to Twitter to discuss it.

One person wrote:  “#GMB Madeley kicks off the week with ‘do you feel sorry for him?’”

A second added: “#GMB Richard Madeley making a good start to the week. Neil Parish ‘no suggestion he had a track record’ of looking at porn. Because Parish always tells Madeley and @GMB when he is about to log on to a porn site.”

While a third remarked: “#GMB allowing an apology from a Perv MP 😂 Why is Madeley sounding sympathetic to the MP??”

Last week Tory MP Neil Parish quit after he was caught watching porn in the Commons.

Neil insisted he stumbled across the X-rated video by mistake while searching online for tractors for his family farm.

But he told how in a “moment of madness” he deliberately watched the seedy scene again while sitting at the side of the chamber waiting to vote.

Mr Parish, 65, finally bowed to pressure and announced he will stand down — three days after being spotted ogling the video on his phone by two horrified Tory colleagues.

He choked back tears as he told how the sordid saga had besmirched his reputation and brought his 22-year career in politics to an abrupt end.

Dad-of-two Mr Parish said: “I’ll have to live with this for the rest of my life. I made a terrible mistake and I’m here to tell the world.

“The situation was, funnily enough, it was tractors I was looking at, so I did get into another website with sort of a very similar name and I watched it for a bit, which I shouldn’t have done.

“My crime — my biggest crime — is that on another occasion I went in a second time — and that was deliberate. That was sitting waiting to vote.”
