Kit Harington rose to fame playing Jon Snow on the immensely popular HBO show Game of Thrones. When it came to an end in 2019, after eight successful seasons many actors were allowed to keep something from set to remind them of the experience. However, the show wasn’t so kind to one of his most beloved actors, who wasn’t allowed to take home his character’s most treasured item.
In a video recently shared by fans on Twitter, the actor revealed the one thing he wished to take home was Jon’s Snow sword, Longclaw.
And not even the original prop: he would have been fine with just a replica.
But HBO still said no to giving the actor his Valyrian steel weapon.
In the clip, Harington sounded quite upset as he admitted: “No, no! I am still writing to them every day!”
He continued: “No, no, they never, they haven’t given it to me.
“Did you know, it the one thing I wanted, the one thing,” he said in defeat.
One fan urged HBO: “Give Longclaw to Kit!”
“Wonder where it is and why they won’t consider turning it over to him….sad,” another person added.
A third one commented: “They won’t let Emilia have her Daenerys wig either.”
Speaking to Men’s Journal the actor admitted he did take something else though.
“I actually didn’t take anything too crazy,” he said.
“I kept some of the armour that I use for Jon Snow’s outfit, like the wrist protectors I’ll wear in his costume.

“I thought those were pretty cool,” he admitted.
Though he probably still thought the sword would have been that bit cooler.
He also expressed his regrets for not being able to bag Longclaw in an appearance on The Graham Norton Show.
“They wouldn’t give me my sword, which I was very annoyed about,” reiterated the star.
“But I did keep a statue of myself. It’s big.”
The BBC presenter asked: “What the hell are you going to do with a statue of yourself?”
“Well that’s what I asked myself when it arrived, I am now like ‘what do I do with this?’” continued Harington.
“I am either going to make a water feature out of it or a shrine of some sort of like a scarecrow for the vegetable patch,” he joked. “There’s lots of things.”
Game of Thrones is available to stream on Now TV.
